Description

Glan Gors self catering apartment in Snowdonia National Park is a pleasant non-smoking holiday home nestled in the historic town of Harlech.

Ideal for families, couples & golfers, the ground floor property sleeps up to five people.

We are sorry, but due to previous bad experiences (and promises we made to neighbours to try to prevent future problems) we do not take bookings from single-sex groups under 30 nor from mixed groups under 25. We aim to maintain the quiet environment and respect the property and neighbours. The property is ideal for families, couples and friends looking for a holiday in a quiet location (close to Royal St David's golf course) but as it is an apartment with upstairs neighbours whose bedroom is above our living room it is totally unsuitable for anyone who regularly stays up a lot beyond 11pm. It's definitely not a suitable venue for hen or stag parties. We ask your cooperation in keeping noise levels low after 11pm.

Comprising of three comfortable bedrooms (1 king, 1 double & 1 single), a spacious lounge area and well equipped kitchen, it is ideal for the self catering visitor. In the warmer months enjoy sitting out on the lawns and admire the spectacular views of the hills above Harlech.

It is within walking distance of a selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, and of Harlech beach which is ideal for families with children. Locally there are several other large sandy beaches. Royal St David's golf course is about a five minute walk away. The area is excellent for walkers of all abilities, either in the heart of Snowdonia or on the Rhinogydd a few miles behind Harlech. For those wanting to tour and looking for a bit of history there are beautiful castles in the area including the nearby Harlech Castle.

Our ground floor apartment provides easy access ideal for those who are less mobile. The lounge/dining area has plenty of comfortable seating, TV with integral DVD & freeview. There is a small selection of DVDs, books, cards, & board games. The fully equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge & washing machine. We provide all bedding, towels (except beach towels) & tea towels. Electricity is included in the cost of the rental. Please note, this does not include the charging of electric cars, which need to be charged off-site (until such time as the management install charging points). It is not permitted, nor safe, to run cables from properties to cars.

We have a key safe and send the code for it to you on payment of the balance. We ask that the key is put back into the key safe on departure to be available for the next guests.

We are happy to take a well behaved adult dog so long as the owners bring its own bed & don't allow it onto chairs or beds. There is a requirement by the estate management that dogs are kept on leads while on the estate. Sorry but we don't take cats.

Arrival time is 4pm and departure is by 11am. We can sometimes offer an earlier arrival time dependent on previous bookings but departure is 11am prompt as the cleaner may arrive any time from 11am.

Getting around

Harlech is on the Cambrian coast railway line and there is a local bus service between Porthmadog and Barmouth which runs at approximately 2 hourly intervals until around 6:30 pm and less frequently outside those hours. It is possible to holiday there by arriving on public transport but with a car you can get further afield or to places not served by public transport.

Entry to the property is by a keysafe, the code will be shown to you by the website a day or two before your arrival. We are available by landline or mobile and should you have any problems we ask that you let us know ASAP so we can try to put it right. Please take care on arrival as the cleaner may only have left recently and hard flooring may still be damp.

House rules

We don't take bookings from young single-sex groups. Due to the type of property (the upstairs property's bedroom is above our lounge) it's unsuitable for anyone looking for a noisy holiday or for night owls. If you like to stay up much beyond 11pm, this isn't the right place for you.
We can take 1 large or 2 small dogs, provided the owners bring the dogs' own bedding & don't allow them onto chairs or beds. Sorry, we don't take cats. The property does not have Wifi

“Fabulous visit”

We stayed 5 nights in what we thought was a cosy apartment. More spacious than expected and kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. Small shop well stocked just up the road too. Location is so handy for Harlech beach, weather was on our side too so spent everyday on their except one day in Barmouth via train, also handy location for station. The Queen's hotel just up road too was nice, friendly and generous portions of typical pub grub, recommend too. Even the dog loved it! Will definitely return!! Our children really enjoyed wall climbing too, at the leisure centre a stone's throw away. Thank you to the hosts, great communication with them prior. Nothing was to much trouble.

“Perfect Loacaation for Snowdonia”
