“Perfect weekend away”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2017

We were looking for a weekend away to recharge the batteries and this break did just that. Firstly you have a 12 mile drive up a single road track but dont let that put you off, half of the adventure is getting to your destination right? Also it show how secluded it was which suited us fine. We stayed at the Oystershell lodge which if it was any closer to the Loch you would be dipping your toes in it from the living room. The stunning views from the living room were only bettered by the stunning views from the bedroom with its floor to ceiling windows. The lodge was very clean and well equipped. We brought our dog with us and she enjoyed the space she had. We really lucked out with the weather. Beautiful sun all weekend and it felt more like the summer on an south Italian lake than March on the north of Scotland. Who needs trips abroad when you have this on the doorstep. The dog walk coincided with a trip to the pub whixh was about a 20 mins walk away from The lodge. The Oystercatcher in served great food and loads of nice beers some local to the area. All in all a great weekend and one we would definitely come back for which is not like me to say that.
