It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Castlelough Holiday Cottages, near Garrykennedy, Co. Tipperary. Nestled along the “Lough Derg Way” on the eastern shores of Lough Derg, we offer you a choice of three 4* Failte Ireland approved self catering cottages Lackaroe,Cornode and Fraoch. Our cottages are centrally located, 1.5 miles from Garrykennedy and ideal for a short break or extended holiday in Ireland.
Perfect for holidays at any time of year. Ideal for couples and families. A haven for fishermen and nature lovers.
Lough Derg is the largest and most beautiful of the Shannon lakes. It is renowned for its coarse fishing. In this tranquil location you can experience the peace and quiet of the real Ireland.
Co. Tipperary is a tourists’ paradise, an area of great charm and natural beauty, with hills, rivers, rolling countryside, clean air and a landscape steeped in history and heritage. It is a great touring base for exploring the many sights of the Shannon region.

Lackaroe is a quaint 19th century country cottage located along The Lough Derg Way on the eastern shores of Lough Derg. This tranquil rural location is an area of great charm and natural beauty. Garrykennedy is 1.5 miles away.
Lackaroe has a high standard of insulation, is fitted and equipped to 4* standard and retains its old world charm,
character and original proportions. Country garden.
The cottage sleeps 4 people.
Living area with , pine furniture and wood burning stove and oil heating.
Kitchen equipped to high standard, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer.
2 double bedrooms on ground floor. Bed linen and towels provided.
Shower room with electric shower, basin and W.C

Sitting area with television European channels. Carpets throughout.
Centrally located, ideal for a short break or extended holiday in Ireland. Perfect for couples, families and those who just want to get away from it all. Tipperary is tourists’ paradise, steeped in history and heritage and great touring base for exploring the Shannon region and beyond.
Lough Derg is renowned for its coarse fishing. Aquatic activities are available in Killaloe.
There are wonderful forest and hill walks in the area.
Many restaurants and pubs in the nearby villages and towns.
Garrykennedy is 1.5 miles, restaurant and 2 pubs, traditional music during the season.
Portroe 4 miles, Nenagh 10 miles, Ballina/Killaloe 10 miles.

“Idyllic cottage near beautiful Lough Derg”
Thank you Ger and Willie for making our trip to Tipp a very pleasant experience. We were warmly greeted on arrival, shown the cottage/appliances etc. The cottage is simply lovely. Great place to take time out and relax. Nearby Garrykennedy is very picturesque. Would highly recommend.
