Description from owner

Description

In the Sienese Chianti area, a semi-detached renovated house in an old water mill of the eleventh century, named Molino Bianco.

Antique furniture, precious textiles, exposed beams and warm Tuscan terracotta tiles emphasise the exclusive nature of this historic watermill.

Large private garden with swimming pool overlooking the Monteriggioni Castle is a warranty for perfect relaxing.

The rental property is fully equipped and furnished as is let with the following furnishings: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, boiler, toaster, hairdryer, oven, TV, iron, frying pans, plates and glasses, cups, kitchenware

Monteriggioni is a small town with stone streets where visitors can discover exciting glimpses of the Chianti countryside, also famous for its Medieval Festival in July: a must in the summer Tuscany.

At 500 mt far from property there is the town of Castellina Scalo, where a supermarket is available, a pharmacy, a bank, a laundromat, some restaurants, pizzeria and all kinds of shops.

Train station of Monterigioni - Castellina in Chianti dists 1 km and is reachable on foot path.

Horseback riding or biking, trekking, hot air balloon rides, visits to art cities such as Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Colle val d'Elsa, reachable in less than 20 min by car, wine tours and tasting of the famous local products and fine Chianti wines, are just some of the activities you can do.

Very close is the famous Via Francigena, which in medieval times brought pilgrims from Canterbury to Rome. From the Mulino you can reach the route in less than 5 minutes walking.

We offer everyone the possibility of a holiday of complete relax, far away from the smog and chaos of the city; a jump in time that brings you back in touch with nature, without giving up the comforts of modern times.

the property is surrounded by a park of 2.000 meters with cypress, acacia trees and Mediterranean flora where time is marked only by the chirping of birds and the sun's path.

10 minutes walk on the bike path from the castle of Monteriggioni; 15 minutes drive from Siena and only 45 km from Florence, 60 from Florence airport..

Come annesso del fortilizio di Castiglionalto, il Molino fu abitato da una comunità di Benedettini fino al XV sec. Numerose testimonianze della loro presenza sono arrivate fino a noi;

“A fantastic Tuscany retreat”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2018

We spent 2 weeks in the guest residence and found the location ideal to visit all of the wonders Tuscany has to offer with even a train station that will take you to Siena in 15 minutes within walking distance if you prefer not to drive. Monteriggioni is a short walk away along footpaths and the whole area is beautiful. The property had everything we as a family of 4 needed plus the added Tuscany charm of a traditional building. My children used the pool every day we were there and we couldn't fault the pool area and gardens for appearance and facilities. The owners are very friendly, available when you need them and can offer a lot of help with deciding where to go or on practical matters such as which supermarket to go to. We were also helped out by the owners with a wine tour booking while we were there which we enjoyed thoroughly. We left with a lot of fond memories of our stay and a camera full of beautiful photographs.
