Stunning private house, with 4 quadruple, 1 double and 1 twin bedrooms plus 3 bathrooms. The spacious living-reception area regularly used as large communal area for entertainment. The property is centrally heated [fair usage policy applies] and will create a 'home-from-home'.

Extensive private garden provides ample space for outdoor games or running around whilst barbeque meals are being prepared on the gas BBQ (extra cleaning charge). Smart TV, wi-fi and other online entertainment available. Board games & childrens' toys laid on in case of less favourable weather.

Striking new contemporary kitchen-diner with fabulous triple-aspect views and direct access via wide timber deck to garden via French doors. The property occupies an elevated position which affords magnificent south-westerly views with fabulous sunsets to see. It is set in a quiet, residential neighbourhood and benefits from high-walled perimeters, affording tremendous privacy, yet enjoys easy access (< 150m away) to the start of the West Highland Way, Mugdock Country Park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The West Highland Way + Forth-Clyde Canal provide easy cycle tracks within easy reach.

Located in a luxury garden suburb, 15 minutes from Glasgow city centre. Off-street parking for 4 cars behind solid privacy gates. [Ample on-street parking also.] 1 minute walk to an abundance of local amenities including independent shops: crafts, delis & grocery stores all within the traffic-free village centre. Business and corporate clients can make use of free internet access and the high quality of living space makes it ideal for entertaining or family gathering events. Guests are often rewarded with stunning panoramic vistas over nearby hills and countryside. Families with youngsters will be easily entertained by the proximity of EITHER (in one direction) the many walks, lochs and beautiful scenery OR (in the other direction) the Kelvingrove Galleries, Botanic Gardens or Transport Museum and copious concert venues. Oodles of easily-accessed bus, taxi and train transport options (all <5 minutes walk) provide access to the many outstanding cultural, sporting, music and culinary delights which helped make Glasgow into this city of culture and architecture.

Milngavie is ranked Scotland’s most beautiful mainland town centre and is one of Glasgow’s most sought-after semi-urban/semi-rural areas with easy access to the city centre. The village is well regarded for its situation on the edge of the beautiful Mugdock Country Park with the West Highland Way starting close by. With proximity to stunning scenery everywhere to be seen, Milngavie remains one of the most beautiful and rewarding places to live in Scotland. As well as its rich history, Milngavie is served by a wide range of retailers, restaurants and pleasant inns. In addition, it has fantastic facilities that include grocery supermarkets, leisure and sports centres, golf courses, cinema complexes. The town also benefits from fantastic transport links for the M8 to Edinburgh, A9 to Stirling/Perth or M74 to the South and England. With its frequent and efficient local and main line railway networks, Glasgow is not only easily accessible by car or train but well serviced by two local airports.

Guests can simply arrive, relax and unwind in the spacious living areas, comprising a custom-made kitchen featuring oakwood finishings and modern kitchen appliances to prepare scrumptious lunches or evening meals. Alternatively, meals can be prepared by trained cooks. [During the winter seasons, they have catered for ski chalet guests in the Alps.] Very reasonable prices available for family meals - breakfasts, afternoon teas and evening meals - whilst you enjoy the vast range of nearby amenities, bars, coffee shops - all within walking distance.

Please note. Requests for discounts are treated seriously provided the proportion being sought is both sensible and has regard to the calibre of property on offer. Enquirers may prefer to recognise that other hosts place a higher priority on filling their calendar whereas we prefer to sustain quality of the villa and quality of our guests' enjoyment.

Getting around

Milngavie itself is a lovely pedestrianised village 6 miles from the centre of Glasgow. What makes it such a most desirable area is that it sits on the edge of beautiful countryside yet has the benefit of being well connected to other parts of Scotland by road and rail. There are 4 trains each hour into Glasgow city centre, each taking between 20-25 minutes. The town is also close to an abundance of transport links - eg. ROAD (M8, M74, M77, M9), plentiful rail connections (eg. direct train to/from Edinburgh), airports (GLA/EDI) and ferry terminals (eg. Greenock/Gourock/Stranrar).

Interaction with guest

Your hosts - awarded Certificates of Excellence - live next door and can easily arrange handovers, advice or even support in the event of any emergency. Apart from your hosts virtual Concierge service, increasingly their planning assistance is used to help organise advance grocery deliveries, catering, event or activity bookings, including local service procurement such as floral bouquets, wedding cake and marquee hire. For Babies-Toddlers, we will provide travel cots, high chairs, stair gates, games and toys, etc. Purely FYI, like most establishments we consider all children under 2 years occupaying a travel cot are infants. Beyond that age, we will make up beds and therefore consider 2 year olds equal to all other guests.

Response from the owner It has been a torrid time for everyone during these 'lockdowns' and - even beyond standard cancellation terms - we have tried our best to accommodate everyone's substantially changing plans (usually by offering alternative dates). Our aim is not only to ensure guests have a good time whilst at Pleasant Hill, but everyone should also feel they have been fairly treated. In this case, we look forward to making sure Lorna's group feel warmly welcomed and enjoy their stay even more so. Chris Campbell 'Pleasant Hill Scotland'
