Description
Our House is nestled at the foot of Mount Eagle (stunning hike) in the village of Dunquin on the Dingle penninsula with views of the Blasket Island group to the front and lovely views of sheep grazing on Mount Eagle to the rear, . Our house has an open plan layout with double sided stove facing both lounge and kitchen. There are three bedrooms downstairs. Upstairs there is a large mezzanine lounge area and extra double bed. We are five minutes drive from the stunning Coumeenole Beach featured in the film Ryan's Daughter. We are ten minutes drive from safe sandy beaches such as Ventry (blue flag) and Wine strand, Ballydavid with TP's pub/restaurant and seaweed spa are a ten minute drive. We are two minutes walk from Krugers country pub the most westerly pub in Ireland. We are five minutes drive from Tig Aine restaurant and there are many bar food restaurants including the renowned Paidi O Sheas which has been visited by Tom Cruise an Dolly Parton, We are on the wild Atlantic way and are also on the Dingle way walking trail which encompasses 162km of marked walking trails beginning and ending in Tralee. We are ten minutes from Ceann Sibeal featured in the latest star wars movie and location of an 18 hole golf links. Dingle is a 20 minute drive . Dingle hosts many fine restaurants and shops also numerous attractions such as Oceanworld marinelife dive centre and ecoboat trips ... Within five minutes walking distance from the house you can visit the Blasket Island heritage centre where you can learn all about the local culture and history of the Islanders. Trips to the great Blasket Island leave from Dunquin pier two mins drive away.

“Beautiful and comfortable house in a lovely rural setting close to fabulous scenery, beaches and walks”
We stayed for a week with our 2 children (ages 12 and 8) and absolutely loved the house and location. Although we didn't have a totally unspoiled view of the Blasket Islands, we could always see something of them from the house - some amazing sunsets too! 2 minute walk to the local pub, which is nothing special, however it is just nice to be able to go for a beer in the evenings. The house is located close to all the amazing places to visit and see along the Slea Head drive - stunning views and beaches and great walks. The Blasket Centre is really worth a visit and just around the corner. Dunquin Harbour is beautiful and just a short drive away - great trip to Great Blasket Island from here. The house has a great layout and is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is wonderful and I ended up cooking more than I usually would but found it very relaxing and almost theraputic because of the facilities and the closeness to the gorgeous sun room area of the house. Great garden for the kids to play in and lots of games for them in the house. All the rooms are en-suite and spacious. We loved the cosy living area and really felt at home. The outdoor seating area is lovely too - we were lucky to have some beautiful weather and sunshine. Margaret gave us a great welcome and we knew we could have contacted her if necessary - but we really didn't need to as all our needs were catered for.
