Description

If you are looking for privacy and seclusion in a northwoods setting, Fort Dixon Resort is for you!

We are a single lodge, Minnesota Department of Health licensed- resort. The cabin contains two separate bedrooms, plus four bunk beds, a complete kitchen, with two refrigerators. You can freely use a connected dock, paddle boat and canoe. A fire ring with wood and a picnic area is provided.

The large cabin, sleeps eight and is located on 700 acre-Dixon Lake and the Third River confluence. Third River is connected to Lake Winnibigoshish (Lake Winnie), in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. We are located seven miles from the Third River Flowage boat access on Lake Winnie. We are open year around.

There is great area snowmobiling, ATV-ing, nature hiking, hunting and fishing in the surrounding public lands and waters. Excellent walleye, northern pike, crappie, sunfish and perch fishing is available. Waterfowl, grouse, white tail deer, bear and wild mushroom hunting is also very good in season.

We also offer both summer and winter guided fishing adventures for an additional fee. We use a 20 foot Lund Alaskan boat powered by a 115 hp Yamaha out board motor for open water. The boat easily seats three anglers plus the guide. We then use a tracked- 700 Polaris Ranger with crew cab, to access area ice fishing lakes. This vehicle also easily seats three people, plus the guide. We offer both full and half day trips. Dark house spearing and angling shelters are available for hard water fishing.

“Secluded,Quiet, Wonderful!!”

Secluded rustic cabin in the woods right on Lake Dixon. Solitude and fishing is abundant. The cry of the loons alone makes it worth every penny. The cabin is rustic but comfortable. The host is fantastic and friendly. Fishing is good, kayaking is good on this lake and the few boaters seem respectful of those on kayaks/canoes. Highly recommend if you are outdoorsy and do not need/want to be around others as it is about 15+ miles to nearest store/restaurant/bar. I know I'll be going back!
