Cosy 1st floor apartment. Surrounded by communal gardens in a block of 12 stone built (1854) cottage flats. Benefits from sea view of the beautiful Kyles of Bute.
Minutes walk from both Hotel and Village store.
Bookings open for up to 4, but best suited to 2 adults 2 children,

Constructed circa 1854, the Shore cottages building originally housed local workers. Now the cottage flats are mainly second homes.
Although there are 12 flats, they are all seldom occupied at the same time. Therefore the flat and surroundings offer great space for peacefully thinking.
Accommodation consists :
Main door and tiled hall with coat hooks
Bedroom – Double bed, built-in mirrored wardrobes provide ample storage
Open Plan Living and Kitchen area
Living area - Comfy Sofa bed (bed 150cm wide), window seat, Wood burning stove, wall mounted Freesat television, XBox S for DVD/Blu-ray/games, NOW TV, Netflix, Wi-Fi
Kitchen – well equipped for creating some delicious home cooking, breakfast bar with folding leaf. Bonus of having washer-dryer and Nespresso machine
Toilet/Shower room – Decorated in a nautical style, electric shower (no bath)

“Shore Cottages ,Kames”
We booked in for a week ,What a lovely place Kames is stunning views lovely people .Our flat was Lovely and all COVID procedures were followed .A well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting area ,Bedroom was was very comfortable loads of storage.Village shop across the road Hotel round the corner .Everything u need is provided . Definitely want to go back next year .

“Nice base for exploring the West Coast of Scotland”
For some reason I did think we had booked a cottage so was a little surprised to find it was a small flat. Having said that, the flat suited our needs, was clean,tidy and well equipped. We were a little perturbed by the noise coming from the family in the flat next door but we were out every day so only heard them in the evening and early morning. It was in close proximity to a shop. There was a lovely view from the window although blocked a little by tall trees. The owner had given clear instructions for getting in and plenty of info about the accommodation and local area. This flat was within our budget and a good base for exploring this area of Scotland. The poorer weather meant we did not make full use if the garden but there was seating and access to a barbecue. The neighbours in the flat below were very friendly.

Response from the owner Hi Emma, Thank you for the review. I am sorry for the confusion you experienced about the type of property you booked. The property is listed as an apartment on TA. The legal and postal name for the property is 'Shore Cottages'. I describe the property in the listing a 'cosy 1st floor cottage flat'. 'Cottage flats' are a style of housing common in Scotland, where there are single floor dwellings at ground level, and similar dwellings on the floor above. Most of the flats are owner used only, they are not let out. During school holidays, yes, the owners bring their own families to stay. I know my 2 young boys can make a noise! Most of the time the properties are quiet and tranquil. We are in discussion with the owners of the land with the tall trees to the front of the property. Over the last 13 yrs they have not been pruned and I agree spoil the view to the front when they are full of foliage. The more interesting view (yacht moorings) out of the window to the right is still relatively un-obstructed. I am sorry the weather had turned by the time of your stay and you could not enjoy the outside seating area. Regards Liam

“Shore Cottage”
Lovely accommodation, all mod cons of a very high standard including Wi-Fi. Beautiful, peaceful location the Cottage is a great base for exploring the local area. Would definitely recommend the cottage to others and hope to visit again in the future.
