Are you ready to get out of your routine and go someplace where you can relax on the beach all day and fall asleep to the surf pounding on the shore? Get off the tourist path and experience the beauty and tranquility that awaits you at Casa Costello. Lie beneath in bed and stare at the sea, sip coffee on the upper terrace, stunning views from each and every one of my 14 windows in this apartment. Private beach access lets you come and go at your leisure. Wi-fi and cable are provided so you can still connect with the world.

Full kitchen with fridge, stove, coffee maker, toaster and an outdoor grill are provided for your use. There are enough dishes, pots, pans and utensils to cook anything you crave. There is a dining table in the kitchen, as well as a work station where you can enjoy the view.

Rustic, colorful, and original, you've never stayed at a place like this. My home is beautifully built by an artist, and has more character than any other place I've ever been. I've recently taken down the whole second floor, and rebuilt it entirely, to make it a separate hideaway from the floor below. Everything, from the coral tile to the insulated alu-zinc roof, is entirely brand new. I was careful to preserve the unique characteristics of the house, (like the 9 foot round shower basin) while updating it with a new kitchen and covered terrace. I've recycled the original materials, into new gates and landscaping to enrich the privacy and beauty of the surroundings. This is a concrete house with many open air openings. I have little red crabs living in the garden, numerous birds and lizards to watch in the yard all day, and the cats are always around to keep you company.

As the lower floor is still awaiting remodel, it is closed for rental. You won't encounter anyone else on the property aside from it's manager and host. You can sit in the shade with your toes in the sand and watch the waves. You can spend your days swimming and sunning, and your nights strolling on the moonlit shores. It's a kitesurfer's paradise.

Linens, drinking water, and towels are provided. Feel free to ice down the available cooler, grab a plastic chair, and make yourself at home on the beach all day!

Sustainable tourism is important to me. I want people to be able to come, experience the beautiful beach, but I also want to employ the villagers and keep our house's power usage to a minimum. It's unspoiled, and my goal is to keep it that way, while allowing others to enjoy it.

Transportation can be arrange to/from the Puerta Plata or Santiago airports. Once you and your luggage arrive, you can take public transportation to a grocery store, ATM, restaurants, or nearby excursions. Our caretaker and his family can accommodate any request, including running errands, cleaning, laundry service or even cooking meals, for a reasonable price.

There are no restaurants within walking distance, but there are fruit stands, a convenience store stocked with the very basics, (ice, veggies, etc.) and a tiny locals bar at the end of our road.

Parking is available, and our staff lives within hailing distance should you need anything during your stay. The language here is Spanish, but the host, Amilcar, speaks fluent English as well, and can help you with any challenges you encounter on your getaway.

My house is your house for the duration of your stay.

Be aware there are three cats on the premises that keep rodents away. Please do not rent if you are allergic to cats. They stay outside but will wander in when the door is open.

Do not hand out treats or money to the local children. Do not invite them onto the property. (It's creepy and inappropriate.)
