“Paradise” This was my 4th stay at suncamp. Property is very beautiful and I have always been treated very well by management and everybody else staying there. It is not a luxury or all-inclusive hotel but it is nice, clean, inexpensive, and overall great experience every time. Can't wait to return again this October!

“We come back!” We, a couple from Germany stayed for a week last March in the studio. We enjoyed the place a lot. The house is in a central location, a minute from the beach and several restaurants in walking distance. The owner family who live in the same building was very helpful and always available when we had a wish or a question. It is a quiet place with a wonderful garden and a relaxing pool area. We are planning to come back next winter but have not decided to take the studio again or the bigger and also very nice apartment right next door.

“Wonderful time in Playa Dorada” We stayed in Playa Dorada for the month of March 2014 and we really enjoyed it. I have travel a lot and stayed in many different hotel and condos, but this was the best. What you see on the internet, is the absolute truth. Cindy is a very honest and caring owner. I did have a couple minor issues during my stay, but they were quickly handle after I contacted Cindy. The condo is fantastic with very nice and comfortable furnitures and TVs, and the kitchen is ultra modern. We also really appreciated the outdoor BBQ (a very big and nice BBQ). The San Marino complexe is very nice and secure. The swimming pool is big and clean and the beach is only a five minutes walk from the condo, and at the beach you have very nice chairs and umbrellas. The staff at San Marino is excellent, the laundry service is great and not expensive. The condo is only ten minutes to Puerto Plata by taxi where you have the Las Sirenas store which is just like a WalMart (this is where we when for grocery shopping) they also have a Domino's Pizza. I visited the old San Felipe Fort, I went to the top of the mountain in the teleferic and had a really great time visiting many places around Puerto Plata. The only thing missing as far as I am concern, is something like a seven eleven in the plaza in the front of the condo. They have many things, but not your basic like bread, cold meat, butter and eggs. Beside that, they have many things. With all the condos being built around Playa Dorada, maybe someone will invest in a seven eleven or something like that. Beside that, everything was excellent, and God willing, I will go back next year.

An oasis of charm, beauty, and relaxation.

I can't recommend Villa Caribe highly enough. Under ordinary circumstances, I would give it five stars, but our circumstances were far from ordinary, and the owners and staff far exceeded our expectations. My friends and I were staying in the village of Las Terrenas, about three hours away from Puerto Plata by car, when protests broke out in that village and we decided we needed to leave. We started searching the Internet for another place to stay on Tuesday afternoon. By Tuesday night we had confirmed our reservation at Villa Caribe with Chris, one of the owners, and by Wednesday early afternoon we were there. The response time and customer service on the booking end were absolutely amazing. We were so grateful and relieved to be away from the riots in Las Terrenas that we would have been happy with almost anything, but we were in for a major treat. Not only did we not have to settle; Villa Caribe was an order of magnitude nicer than anything we had expected. (Why the owners don't have photos of the gorgeous interior of the home, I don't know.) High ceilings, light and airy rooms, huge beds, many various community areas, a generous kitchen, a lovely pool, beautifully manicured grounds, and a view--and the sounds--of the ocean across the street?! Who could have imagined? Oh, and let's not forget the funny, super-helpful, friendly, English-speaking staff. When we arrived we were ravenous, and found Francesca and Maria fixing dinner (it smelled heavenly). We had brought with us some cooked potatoes and hard-boiled eggs, leftovers brought along on our mad dash out of our previous lodging. Francesca said, "Why don't I make you some potato salad so you can eat right away?" This she did, in the span of about ten minutes. My husband is a chef and I watched his face as he tasted it. One bite and he was sold: "This lady can COOK!" No kidding. Each meal that Francesca and Maria prepared for us was absolutely wonderful (I highly recommend the dorado in coconut sauce!). They washed and folded our laundry, helped us set up taxis and activities, literally fixed us drinks and brought them out to the pool, always kept the house sparkling, and maintained an upbeat, friendly demeanor every moment. Sorry to gush--but you had to understand why I couldn't possibly recommend Villa Caribe any more highly. Thanks SO MUCH to Chris, Francesca, Maria, Marino, and Gus (who coordinated our activities). My only regret is that we didn't begin our vacation at Villa Caribe. … see more
New And Modern Studio Close To The Beach In A Trop
Relaxing Rental Studio near the beach

Great Studio rental. The apartment was clean, cozy, and comfortable perfect for one or two people. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes which were more than sufficient for the studio apartment. The AC was powerful which made the studio a welcome retreat from the Puerto Plata heat. Mike was extremely accommodating he had the linen and towels changed regularly, additionally provided assistance whenever needed he was very helpful with everything he even called and inquired about my well being when he had not seen me for a couple of days. A good home base for travelers on a budget that would like to stay long or a short time. Many residents and guests myself included intended on staying for a short period of time then decided to stay longer. It is also good for those who would like to volunteer their time or expertise in teaching English or permaculture on a day to day basis without the pressure of having to volunteer everyday. Absolutely Wonderful.

We stayed at Villa Carolisol two Novembers ago over Thanksgiving week. The house was amazing, the pool was fantastic. Maria the cook was just the nicest and made the most amazing food. She helped us decide what food we wanted from a list, and then accompanied us to the grocery to buy it. She would have made us American food if we wanted it but we requested she make us Dominican food. We were so incredibly happy with our decision. I love to cook, but having amazing, homemade, authentic Dominican food on our table three meals a day and never having to think about cooking is my idea of an amazing vacation. She is a fantastic cook, the food was delicious, completely and utterly delicious. She and her helper were friendly and so very helpful. We had several days "out", horseback riding, catamaran and snorkeling, sliding down waterfalls, and then we had several days in. While our outings were wonderful, our "stay at home days" were equally great, it was super fun to go to the beach next to the house, and to hang out at the pool. Our kids loved having both the beach and the pool to play in, and hardly got out of the water the whole week we were there. FABULOUS

Our stay at Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Resort was an exceptional vacation! John Wells was extremely thorough in planning all reservations/accommodations and his knowledge of the resort is something to be said – because this place is enormous! I would highly recommend letting John take care of all the details of your stay - he knows what he is doing! So many beaches – so many restaurants… so little time – but try to explore them all! It is advisable to make your dinner reservations upon check in as to make sure you have the opportunity to dine in the restaurants you desire. They are all excellent so you really can’t go wrong. Every choice from fine dining to a snack on the beach is available for your pallet. The Presidential Suites are very comfortable and everything you need is readily available. The Suites are very upscale and I recommend staying in them. The resort staff seemed to bend over backwards for us and very accommodating to our needs. A “must do” while staying on the property is take a little jaunt over to Ocean World for the dolphin adventure – it’s amazing! Nice area for those well travelled

Our family enjoyed our stay in Villa Sanchez. Close to the malecón and anything you might need. Peaceful neighborhood with nice neighbors. If you would like an immersive experience then this is the place. Or you could close yourselves in and enjoy the private pool and patio. We were fine and are resourceful and minimalist in nature, others may want more kitchen supplies and such.
