“Paradise” From the minute you step foot on the property you are pampered an made to feel like family. The staff reads your mine an are on top of every little detail, I don't want to forget anyone so I will tell you only a few from, Chris our friend in charge, Ramon our bartender/hero, Frank our chef, Sandy our go to gal, Rosa massages, Meriela our pedicure, Pepito an crew are just outstanding. You pick when you eat, sleep, swim, party, then the beach bon fire an band, dancing with staff, variety of food for meals, you couldn't possibly want for anything. All I can say if you do, it's not because of the Sunrise Villa or staff for sure........We were in the Presidente villa an have to say it was the best accommodations I have ever been in on a vacation.....Please treat yourself an find out for yourself.......

Hard to plan a better vacation...

Flor de Cabrera is a jewel. All of the luxuries of a top notch hotel-but occupied by only your friends and loved ones. The staff is focused on your every need. The best part was Arturo and Karen who allowed us to never worry about a thing. Everything was "no problem" "as you wish". The pool is spectacular and there are many activities right in the villa (pool table, ping pong, poker table,shuffleboard...) that we enjoyed doing after dinner. Villa CoraLeah
The perfect home for a family retreat

This house is even more gorgeous than the pictures make it look. The main living area is on two levels, with 2 bedrooms up (including one with twin beds) and 2 bedrooms down. Many of the rooms have TV/Cable and there is a big media room downstairs with projection TV. The bedrooms have AC as well as fans. The furnishings are beautiful, and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are big and sumptuously decorated with tile and nice fixtures. On the main level is a large kitchen and dining area, as well as a family room. Both levels have outside decks with comfortable chairs and tables. There were 8 of us, two kids and 3 adult couples. If we didn't like each other, the house still would have been perfect since there are plenty of places to retreat to for privacy and quiet. As it is, we love each other, so we enjoyed the many open areas where we could enjoy conversation, games, and the wonderful company of our family. On a separate, lower level is the beautiful pool area. Having it 2 levels below the kids' room made it easy to secure and know when they were interested in swimming, making it extremely safe. There are a collection of DVDs in the home, something for every taste. The kitchen has a propane stove/oven and lots of cookware and serving ware. We had two chefs with us, and they prepared a feast no problem. Plus it is a beautiful area to work in, with incredible views through a large window facing the ocean. It is a short walk to the Hotel La Catalina, and we took advantage of their facilities to have a few wonderful meals and drinks in their bar. Although we were not hotel guests, we were always treated with grace and friendly, efficient service. The food was excellent. The grounds of Villa CoraLeah are kept absolutely immaculate by the on-site caretaker, Papito, who was always available when needed, and of course very friendly as are almost all of the locals. He brought coconuts to share with the kids, and they were thrilled to watch him prepare them. Property Manager Juan Carlos Villa introduced us to the home and checked in with us quite often to make sure everything was going well (and it was). The villa is quite secure, with friendly neighbors and a hired security man who patrols. Seasoned world travelers will feel comfortable, but those who would be more comfortable in a gated community might not enjoy the setting. There are very nice homes, like this, set near some impoverished ones. If the site of poverty upsets you and you'd prefer to avoid encountering it, you might look elsewhere, but you'd be missing something good.. We are seasoned travelers, and know that poor in monetary terms doesn't mean poor in spirit and humanity. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly and responsive, interested and willing to speak with us. Like people everywhere, they simply expect to be treated openly and with respect. It is not a place to flaunt wealth, but neither do you have to feel guilt as long as you meet them with the same generosity of spirit that will be offered to you. We loved the people of Cabrera, and found them uniformly welcoming, friendly, and absolutely lovely. We did rent a car, and without one you would require taxi service to get to the wonderful beaches nearby, and to the town of Cabrera for dinner or an evening out in the plaza. It is a couple of miles away, and not the easiest walking. The north coast of DR particularly has some power fluctuations, but the house is well prepared for these. We were never inconvenienced.... lights are essentials are on a battery backup. When and if the power goes down, it is up again within a few minutes. This is not a problem of the house or the local area, it is much more general. Don't let these little minuses detract from the big picture. We had an absolutely perfect, marvelous time in this meticulously maintained and beautifully appointed home. We set aside all worries while we were here, an absolutely ideal rental in almost every respect. … see more
