Romantic SUMMERWIND COTTAGE- Scenic Harbor View

Gloucester cottage

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 4

“Gorgeous in every way” The cottage is tasteful, beautiful, comfortable and convenient. The views of the wonderful working harbor are breathtaking. The sunsets, seen from the deck while relaxing, dining, drinking coffee or something else are singularly spectacular. The color scheme in the cottage, the attention to detail, the artwork - all conspire to make the entire experience of being there as relaxing and enjoyable as it could possibly be. I would recommend Summerwind Cottage to anyone. I hope to return regularly. On top of all its other charms, the owners-Hank and Linda-are delightful people that I would love to see again under any circumstances.

“Home away from home” We absolutely loved our stay here, from start to finish. I will rave about the apartment itself but first let me rave about the owners, Kevin and Annmarie, who were like helpful friends rather than 'landlords.' When our travel dates changed slightly, Kevin worked with me by e-mail to ensure it all worked out (a huge relief since we were coming all the way from Australia!). He met our taxi when we arrived, carried a bag upstairs for us, and he and Annmarie gave us the tour of the fabulous 2nd-floor apartment, complete with food and wine they had stocked for us, and gave us directions to everywhere we might need to get to. Through the course of our 3-night stay, they were both available with suggestions for sightseeing or meals, chats about universities (we were taking a few campus tours in the area), pets of their dogs, and were overall so kind and welcoming that we couldn’t have felt more at home. The apartment is close to EVERYTHING - Whole Foods grocery store, trains, Harvard and MIT, restaurants. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need for cooking your own meals, the beds were comfortable, the apartment clean, the street quiet; we all appreciated the free wifi and the cable TV. Overall we were so relaxed and comfortable here. It was a home away from home and if we ever go back to Boston we would definitely stay here again!

“An Oasis By The Sea” August 30, 2012 Dear Rose & Guy- Thank you very, very much for our wonderful stay at Periwinkle Cottage! From the beautifully decorated rooms, the most comfortable beds, soft luxurious towels and linens, convenient kitchen, TV to the lovely outdoor sitting area and garden... Omg...what a gem! It is a true delight! And the cottage is immaculate and very peaceful and tranquil. We will definitely recommend your "oasis by the sea" to our family and friends! Love, Penny and Urs Westport, Connecticut

  • House of the Seven Gables: Take a free guided tour of this 16th century wooded mansion, one of the oldest in New England.

Salem has a large music scene for a town of its size with multiple venues known for having live music during the week. In addition, there are several major events and festivals that take place here throughout the year. Celebrate the spirits that remain in Salem with the haunted events during the Festival of the Dead in October, listen to some of the top poets in the country do readings during the Massachusetts Poetry Festival in May, or enjoy the games and rides that are part of the Salem Harvest Fest in September.
