Description

Comfortable, cosy, quiet, self catering log cabin in Kirkcudbrightshire within Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Situated within Barend Holiday Village, Sandytoes Log Cabin is just a two minute walk from the beautiful Sandyhills beach. The area is famous for its many golf courses, and excellent mountain biking trails.

Both the cabin and the site are dog friendly, as well as the local area. Please let me know if there's anything we can do to help your doggo enjoy their holiday ( details of local walks, dog friendly pubs etc).

There is a lake on site with resident swans and cygnets - we are just a two minute walk away.

Please note: we are NOT currently members of Barend Swimming Pool. However, feel free to use the attached bar and restaurant, or the beach is five minute's walk away if you fancy a dip.

The cabin has a large open plan living and dining room with the lower balcony running the full length of this. There is a downstairs double bedroom. The downstairs bathroom features a spa bath with a shower overhead.

Upstairs there is a large bedroom with upto four single beds, with access to the upstairs balcony. There is also a double bedroom up here with ensuite toilet.

N.B. Please note that we keep bird food on the premises (including peanuts) in sealed containers. Please let me know if any of your party suffers from a nut allergy and I will make sure everything is removed in time for your stay

“Great place for a break with the family”

Lovely cabin. Really comfortable beds and bed linen. Lovely touches like hand soap, lotion and welcome Prosecco and shortbread. Badgers came every evening and bird food hangers on verandah attracted lots of birds including woodpeckers. Host very responsive and helpful. I went with adult children and grandchildren but would also be great for group of friends. Very rural area, great to get away.

“A lodge with a view”

We booked this very last minute and we were lucky to get it. A five minute walk from the gorgeous sandy beach. There are some lovely coastal walks but not for the faint hearted. This lodge has all you need, from bucket and spades, games, dvds, to an iron and board. It sleeps 8 , with 4 beds in the loft and 2 double bedrooms, one with an en suite. The kitchen is tiny but has all you need . The only 2 things a would have a slight moan about are there are no steps down from the porch at the back and no WiFi. The bird feeders on the porch are just lovely, and we saw bagers most nights which was a highlight for me. The Beagle pub on site is lovely . Great value and brilliant food. We had a wonderful week and would definitely book again. Thanks Holly.
