Description
The cottage is located close to the ancient Etruscan village of Scansano in the Tuscan Maremma and is surrounded by olive groves. The setting is perfect for those wishing to combine the tranquility of the countryside with the proximity to ancient villages and exploration. It offers opportunities for trekking, bicycle, horseback riding, golf and spa treatments or even just for solitude. Nearby, there are charming gourmet restaurants, wineries and olive mills where one can sample the local wine (an excellent Morellino di Scansano), extra virgin olive oil, local cheeses and regional dishes.
The house, built on two floors, has a spacious living room with two large window walls and a central fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with many amenities for family dining. Four adults will sleep comfortably in this lovely Italian get away. A sofa bed, located in the living room, will sleep two additional people as well [the house can accomodate six people in total]. Each floor has one private bedroom with en-suite bathroom with the ground floor having a Jacuzzi and its own private entrance as well. The cool breezes of the Tuscan evening entice one to dine or relax with a glass of wine outside under the covered pergola. A barbeque is also available for al fresco dining. There is only one other house in sight (1/2 km away).
The house is located 4 km from Scansano, 25 km from the spa and golf resort of Saturnia, 30 km from the seaside beaches of Talamone and Argentario, 40 km from Sovana, Pitigliano or the Tibetan Buddhist community (Dzogchen) of Mount Amiata and 160 km from Rome.
