Left on 11/10/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Property split into apartments and this one is jst above ground level, with another beneath and some above. Good location at the end of a cul de sac. Clean and modern (mostly Ikea), with good views of the sea and a patio for eating out. there are several bathing platforms 2 mins away and steps into the sea over volcanic rocks. Well positioned for sightseeing, with the volcana, Catania and Taormina within 1 hrs drive. Bar/restauarant within walking distance. Owners very helpful

The fully equipped apartment allows you to cook and eat your meals at a beautiful surrounding of huge black rocks and blue sea. Although we were only 2 people , it could easily have additional 3 children and still feel spacy enough. At the first day , Francesco the owner met us and was very helpful with tips for traveling , eating and even gave us his local map.
The village of Pozzillo is a bit remote from major cities like Catania, but not really.
The Etna is also not far and you can consider the weather before climbing the mountain.
If you are after a day at the roads and touring around , you will be happy to stay at this quiet place, getting up at the sound of birds and sea waves. -

Thank you, Francesco, for your hospitality!
The view right out the back gate with the lava rocks to sun on and the Mediterranean to swim in was so peaceful and beautiful. I wish we could return there every year. I know we will always want to stay exactly where we stayed this time.I was a bit concerned when I made the reservation since you never know what you will actually wind up with, but we were so pleasantly surprised that we felt like jumping up and down with excitement.
Even though the rental above us was already reserved for the week, Francesco offered us the bottom apartment which turned out to be just wonderful!
The apartment was clean, roomy, nicely decorated, and recently renovated. Even though we had originally wanted 2 bedrooms, this was an excellent alternative. The sofa sleeper in the living room was quite comfortable and still provided privacy for your teenager and us. Francesco greeted us with open arms, some welcome items, and provided us with the right amount of attention and privacy. -

Great place for a peaceful holiday. Francesco provided a very warm welcome. We are already missing the sunshine, good food and kind people we met there. The view of the sea in the morning, the little fishing boats which chug past at night, the quiet verandah. We certainly hope to visit again.

34088Best Peaceful and Relaxing Vacation
Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012
If you want to get away from the tourist scenes and away from the hustle and bustle of life, Casa Pozzillo is the perfect place. I stayed for 10 days at Casa Pozzillo. It was the best vacation I had enjoying the simple life; the location of the apartment with its breathtaking view of the balcony, the town, the people, the culture, the food and the language.
The location of the apartment was great; at the end of a quiet street and the view of the balcony was specular. It is also a good location to go to the bigger nearby cities; 30 minutes to Catania and Taormina. The weather was beautiful; sunny 95% of the time. I enjoyed walking up to amazing sunrises in the mornings from the balcony with my coffee. I spent a lot of time on the balcony; eating fresh sea food and vegetables I buy every day from the town, watching the little boats go by, lovers sitting on the lava rocks holding hands and the teenagers diving from the top of the lava rock into the water, drinking wine in the evening looking out straight into the sea, breathing the salt air, looking at the waves; peaceful and relaxing with no worries in the world. It is a good workout to go down the lava rocks into the sea; the water was a bit cold in May.
The apartment has everything you need; the kitchen was well equipped but the only recommendation I have is an outdoor grill to grill the fresh seafood, the bed and sofa was comfortable. It was also clean and nicely decorated.
The people in the town were friendly which made me want to stay longer.
Francesco, the owner was awesome; always helpful, friendly and very accommodating.
Francesco, thank you very much and I truly enjoyed my stay at Casa Pozzillo. It’s been a week since I am back in the States and I miss it and hope to return again soon. -

Casa Pozzillo is in a beautiful location in a quiet village in Eastern Sicily, not far from Catania. It's beautifully furnished, with attention to detail, has a well-appointed kitchen and comfortable bedroom, and a fold-out sofa for another person.
From the house you can walk out straight onto the sea, and go walking across the volcanic rocks, admire the peace and tranquility, and look out over Etna.
Locally, there's a bar and a few shops where you can get everything you need. The people are very friendly, and you get a real sense of the Sicilian way of life!
We loved the whole place, the apartment, the village, and the countryside. We also came at a time when there were few tourists - April - and would recommend that, although the weather is unpredictable.
Francesco was extremely accommodating, and I would heartily recommend this to anybody wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life for a week.

We rented this villa for 10 days .The owner very nice, met us on the way and took us to the villa. Very quite place located in a dead-end street. The view from the balcony was spectacular. The sea is only a foot step away. Was a bit hard in the begining to get to the water because of the lava rocks. Very recomended to those who want to enjoy sea vacation. From this villa you can easily visit all the sites in the north of the island and down to Syracusa in the South . Fantastic vacation. Thank you Francesco Greco.

Our stay was for two wonderful weeks. Casa Pozzillo was a fantastic villa and home base for our Sicilian vacation. Francesco Greco was always available and helpful whenever we had questions - which was rare as everything was as it was promised to be. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The weather spectacular - never a cloud. We experienced the town of Pozzillo during its yearly festivities - the best fireworks ever! We had the fortune to see Mt. Etna erupt which was amazing site. The house is located on a quite dead-end street. We never had issues with noisy neighbours. The apt is very well furnished, airy and full of natural light. The bed was very comfortable for sleeping. The kitchen well organized, bathroom complete and overall well decorated. We would absolutely go back! Grazie Francesco - a presto.

Ashford, Kent, EnglandCassa Pozzillo - A Fantastic Villa
Left on 08/21/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We rented this villa for just over a week and wished that we could have stayed longer! It is ideally situated; the sea is only a foot step away and it is at the end of a dead end street so there is no traffic passing by and it's really quiet. It has a large veranda/balcony which provides plenty of space for both children and adults to play, which is completely secure, so no worrying. The villa is in immaculate condition with its interior having been wonderfully decorated by the Grecco's, complete with air-conditioning. The Grecco's were exceptionally helpful and did everything he could to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. This villa is ideal for either two couples or a familly of four with 2 small children plus 2 friends, as one room has a king-sized sofa bed and the other room a double bed plus single bed, with a travel cot available for a baby/toddler. From this villa you can easily visit all the sites in the north of the island down to Syracusa in the South. We really can not find fault in any way and have recommended it to all our family and friends. Book with confidence. Fantastic

AntwerpStella Maris - stunning view - peaceful Easter holiday
Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We booked this rental for ten days during the Easter break. Signor Greco was very informative in the run-up to our stay and greeted us at the motorway exit in acireale. Our first impression of the village was authentic Sicily. The apartment itself is beautifully situated on the lava rocks nearby with 180 degree views of the Ionian Sea and a chapel (Stella Maris) on the corner of the terrace.
A nice touch were the freshly picked strelitzia, lilies and lemons. And lemons there were, everywhere in the village as you can smell the groves over the wind.
The one bedroom worked fine for us, sufficient closet space and the bed was comfortable. The terrace which runs around the building is wonderful for enjoying the sun, having breakfast or other meals. The kitchen is small but functional although I did have some recommendations for some additional items. Signora Scuderi's artwork adorned the walls and it made the apartment feel very personal.
Please note the shower is on the tightish side so for a person who is used to a large walk-in shower this may come as a bit of a surprise.
The absence of a TV or radio was fantastic as it made us feel like we had truly escaped.
My daughter loved the walks out on the lava rocks and the fishermen.
We were there in april, which is early in the season but warm enough for sunbathing. There is heating in the bedroom and living room for chilly nights.
Signor Greco recommended that we eat in Santa Maria La Scala where we ate fantastic fish at La Grotta. Blue Bar in Stazzo (5min away) is great for coffee, pastries and ice-cream and people-watching.
Would we return? Definitely! -

Left on 03/07/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Francesco, the owner, is welcoming and very accommodating to the needs of renters. We stayed in 1 of 4 apartments overlooking the majestic Ionic Sea. We had complete privacy and solitude. Amazing sunrise..., teal blue sea. No other renters in the complex at the time. The apartment is smart, clean and original art work of wife Lucia is and fresh native flowers added pleasure to our experience. Pozzillo, the fisherman port and village, is charming, walkable. There are small shops to buy food, fresh vegetables and fish; a bar, church and post-office. Enough to explore, enjoy by foot...orange groves, lovely streets lined with modest Sicilian houses, but nothing can match the incredible location of this apartment.
We intend to book with Francesco and Lucia again!!
Un bel posto! Vi consigliamo! Grazie!
