New Orleans, LAThe house and setting allowed us to relax and get away from the
Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My wife and I spent a relaxing 3 weeks at the Crest. The setting is beautiful and the house is quite comfortable. We spent our time reading and taking day trips to nearby towns and attractions and our city dogs loved being able to roam around the woods off-lead. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife around the house such as deer and a wild turkey. The cool air and mountain vistas were quite a treat for flatlanders such as us who normally endure the misery of august in south Louisiana.

Ivanhoe, NCPeaceful Family time!
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We were able to stay at "The Crest" for our Daughter's appState Graduation which also happened to fall on Mother's Day weekend 2012. Boone was booming! But we were fortunate to be close enough but away from the crowds. Getting to and from graduation was a breeze and when we made the return trip to "The Crest" it was all about family. The cabin is stocked with everything you could possibly need. The weather was perfect for rocking chairs and swings which there were enough for everyone!

This was our second stay at the Crest and it was as memorable as the first. The home is lovely, spotless, and well stocked. It is worth repeating how clean and well maintained this home is. It is very spacious, open, and easily accessable. The Crest is listed as a 3 bedroom, however there are 6 beds that include 2 beds in the loft. In the Boone area, it is a challenge to find 2 bedrooms on the same level. So, this is a bonus if you have children, elderly guests, etc. I love it that the master bedroom with bath opens to the porch where that lovely sunset awaits! Want privacy, you've found it- inside and outside. There is a lovely bedroom on the lower level that has a private outside entrance and indside stairs as well. Butterflies and birds love to visit! A front and back porch provide plenty of space to rock, swing, and relax! What a simple no fuss rental process as the owner is a jewel to work with! Within walking distance to a waterfall and "the Rocks" as the locals call it, make this an ideal place to experience nature and wildlife. Plan to stay awhile as it will be difficult to leave!

Mooresville, NCRock & Relax at the Crest
Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We just spent a wonderful and relaxing weekend at "The Crest". Everything about our stay was top notch and the home is as lovely as it appears on line. The views were spectacular and we spent most of our time on the two spacious porches overlooking the mountains and beautiful forest. If you want peace and quiet, this is the perfect spot. The kitchen is well stocked and other than linens and food, everything is at your fingertips. Although, the space is ideal for families, it is also very accessable for those with limited mobility as there are two bedrooms/two baths and a kitchen on the same floor. The home was the cleanest rental that I have ever stayed in and the owner is a joy to work with and makes the rental process so simple. We look forward to our next visit.

Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in October 2010
My husband and I rented "The Crest" the last week in October and our timing couldn't have been better. The leaves were at their peak. Sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up over the mountain every morning was a piece of heaven for us.
The house was so warm and inviting. We felt as if we were in our own home just farther north. Everything you could want for cooking and movies galore to keep us busy with the TV. The fireplace was another highlight for us. Easy to start for us southerners who don't know what a fireplace is. The house is within minutes of sightseeing, Grandfather Mountain and The Orchard were our favorites. The restaurants in the area are terific.
My husband is handicapped (wheelchair), so once on the porch he had no problem manuvering throughout the house and both porches. Was a real plus for us.
Working with Judith was such a pleasure and she was very accomdating when my daughter joined us on our last weekend with her little 4 legged friend. Can't thank her enough for renting to us and hope to do it again soon. -

Left on 05/01/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Our stay at "The Crest" Boone, NC was outstanding and we were so blessed with the beauty of the cabin as well as outstanding location. This vacation allowed us to take our "Golden", Kyla, who was so excited with long hikes and even her first swim in the creek! What fun we had, what peace we had and this would be our next vaction stay for sure. We had lots of areas to explore or sit on the porch, rocking and enjoying the moutain view...breath taking for sure! We will cherish this trip always and even the few days of rain were not a problem for us since so much to do and the peace we felt was wonderful. This home is well taken care of and everything we could possibly need was provided. This owner made sure our trip was one we will always remember with the warmth and love we felt in this home. Thank you for giving us such a great week in NC at your home in Boone, NC. We will be back, for sure! Our very best to you. David & Diane Thompson, Summerville, SC.

Dear David and Diane,
We are so glad that you enjoyed "The Crest" and found the rest and relaxation during your vacation. It was great corresponding with you and getting to know you over the months.
Great that the kids (big and little) were able to visit and spend some days with you both. I'll let you know if I find the purple Easter egg...

Left on 01/25/2010 for a stay in July 2009
We have been going to Woodridge for the past four years and will be back in July 2010. We look forward every year from getting away from the city and spending a weekend with God and nature. You could not ask for a better place - if you want privacy and sit on th rocking chair front porch, you can do it; if you want to go into Boone for shopping, food, etc. you can do that too. Some years we ride horses, fish, hike and sometimes we don't leave the house at all. Everything you need in this well maintained home - bring your clothes, sheets and towels and everything else is provided. Dog friendly wth permission first - we always take our labs up with us - with 12 acres they love to explore - neighbors are close enough if you need them but not close enough to bother you. We see wildlife every year and go visit our favorite places - this is the best place you will ever stay. Judy is so responsive when you call or email her - there is a caretaker always available - just a phone call away. This house is a great base when we want to go to Little Switerzerland to pick apples or Shatley Springs in West Jefferson to do a hugh family style meal.
We were hooked from our first visit up to Woodridge and now make it our annual trek to get away from the craziness and just relax.
You will love this place as much as we do...plenty of room!! Wi-Fi! Wrap around porches with rocking chairs - absolutely your own piece of heave.Response from judith adams - 02/01/2010
