Completed in late 2011 our home is located at a 2500 foot elevation within the boundaries of the Nantahala National Forest. It has the feel of a remote mountain getaway…without the usual steep mountain driving. It also has easy access to neighbors and to nearby suburban amenities. You will enjoy great views from every room in the house with breathtaking 180 degree, long range mountain views from our great room, dining room and wrap around covered porch. May-June Special! Great Mountain View! Hot Tub!!
Franklin, North Carolina
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
Our Franklin vacation home is an unexpected blessing. We chose it for its spectacular mountain views and easy access to Franklin and its many suburban amenities. We chose Franklin because of its central location in Western North Carolina making it a great base from which to explore all that this great area has to offer. Blessing Ridge is a spectacular vacation home. Everyone who has visited is blown away by the 180 degree long range mountain views that we enjoy there. We love the view when the sky is clear and you can see for miles. And we love the view when it's raining and the clouds are rolling in and out among the many layers of ridges we can see from. In most places the view stays constant....but not in the mountains. The personality of the view can change in minutes which is always exciting. The hot tub and sunning deck...along with the substantial wrap around covered porch for dining and rocking...the dining room windows...and the living room view wall allow you the freedom to enjoy the view no matter what the weather. Even when the sun goes down...the outline of the distant mountains remains...and on a clear night the stars from the hot tub are breathtaking! The gas fireplace creates a great ambiance for reading, visiting, playing games or napping. And while it feels like you are on top of the world...with only the mountains in view...you're only 10 minutes from the amenities of Franklin which feels surprisingly suburban for a town of only 3000 people...with Gem Mining, two McDonald's and the 1500 seat Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts which regularly hosts Broadway touring shows! It is a very unique place to vacation and to explore all that Western North Carolina has to offer...including waterfalls within a 20 minute drive and whitewater rafting within 30 minutes. You won't regret your stay!

This is a great cabin and is just as described by the owners and as shown in photos. It is close enough to Franklin to get to sites, yet secluded enough to get away from it all. The cabin and all its amenities worked great. We took advantage of the fireplace, fire pit, and hot tub. This all made for a relaxing trip. The view is also superb. Cabin was extremely clean and a like new feel.
Owners were great in answering questions and helping make our stay unforgettable. I would recommend this rental to family and friends. -

Greenfield, IndianaDitto to previous reviews - a wonderful, relaxing get-away

Previous reviews have described this beautiful home very well. It is a great location - close to the quaint and very friendly town of Franklin and only a short, but beautiful drive to Highland as well. Be sure to stop at Dry Falls on the way. The owner was very helpful and responsive to questions. Besides the beautiful view and sense of relaxation that comes from just standing on the porch, we thoroughly enjoyed stargazing. I'd almost forgot what it was like to view the stars without city light pollution. So enjoy the hot tub, relax and count the number of shooting stars!

Franklin, TennesseePerfect for a nice, quiet weekend getaway!!

Our family of 6 (ages 6-14) had been looking for a nice, affordable place to take our Fall Break this season, and we were extremely pleased with our choice of Blessing Ridge. The house seemed to be fairly new, with all new appliances and top-notch amenities in all of the rooms. We could not find one thing to write negatively about this residence.
The one thing I do want to mention is that after you book your reservation and stay there the first night, make sure you get up early enough to see the sunrise over the left side of the house. Phenomenal sight as you look over the horizon at the fog (if it happens to be that kind of morning) that skims over the mountain range! It is definitely a time to soak in our Father's blessing of giving us a new day...and I could wake up to that view every morning.
I hope to book more time in the future for just us as a couple.
Enjoy your stay!Response from Jeff and Patti Linman - 11/27/2012

Thanks for the great review, Mark! My family and I spent Thanksgiving week at Blessing Ridge and the sunrise one morning was over the top spectacular! Watch for a photo of it on our site soon!

We stayed in this wonderful place at Easter break, and were very happy and proud to have such a warm, peaceful, and welcoming home for our vacation. In the neighborhood climbing the tall hills, this house has the most scenic view, and it is especially enjoyable from the large deck, which also happens to have a roof, a huge asset in hot sunny days! We enjoyed nice walks at nights as well, down the hill and then back up again, with very pleasant night-awaken smells and under the star-covered sky. We had two 4 year old kids in the house at one time, and found the place very kids-friendly - gates on the deck, a few games in the house, we even had a perfect egg-hunt around the house!. Hot tub was lots of fun as well. The only tricky spot when many people staying in the house might be water in the showers, it seems to be limited to 1.5 shower at a time (since there seem to be one water well for several houses): but eventually we just figured out to take turns, not a big deal on vacation. We found excellent absolutely non-crowded hikes within 30 or so minutes drive south-west (Rufus Morgan Falls, Wasilik Poplar, Standing Indian Loop - all with blossoming spring flowers!) and surely there are many more trails in the Smokies. To conclude, all of us agreed that the house is built and kept with much care and love - big thank you, Jeff and Patti, for sharing this beauty with us!

Blessing Ridge has numerous reasons why you will be thrilled that you decided to rent this awesome place. The first and most obvious is the Mountain View---you will find yourself wanting to spend hours taking in the beauty of the surrounding mountain ranges and soaking in the peacefulness of the valley that the house overlooks. A neighboring home has a couple of horses and watching them graze adds to the tranquility that Blessing Ridge offers. Second, this is a newly built custom home (it still smells new) that is well designed and decorated with comfort in mind. There were only two of us, so we didn't put all of the bedrooms to use, but the Master is spacious and the bed is very comfortable, and I loved showering with the never-ending supply of hot water. The decks are another feature you will greatly enjoy. The covered deck with its ceiling fans make it a nice, comfortable place to sit when the sun is its hottest, and the sun deck and hot tub gives you the wonderful options to catch some sun-rays or do stargazing at night. The gas grill is located just outside of the kitchen door and it is very easy to use, and again, the magnificent view from the deck makes eating alfresco a delightful experience. This is not a secluded house; it is built in a small, new subdivision, but the homes have lots of distance between them so even though you can hear and see the neighbors when you are outside their presence isn't an intrusion. I have rented numerous homes in the mountains (probably over 50) and I would place Blessing Ridge on my top 5 list, so it is my plan to return frequently to this heavenly retreat.

This place was absolutely beautiful! The pictures on the website don't do this place or the view justice. The home is amazing and the view is breathtaking! The home was spotless and very well maintained. The owner detailed everything perfectly with directions and great suggestions on places to visit during our stay. I would recommend making a trip to Cafe Rel for some amazing food. I would gladly recommend this place to anyone and my husband and I plan on making many return trips to this home. We had such a wonderful time and were sad to leave.
