This outstanding rental, located near the Eastern Continental Divide at over 3,000 feet elevation, is a favorite in all seasons, but especially perfect for gatherings anytime from the early spring wildflowers until late fall when the leaves are at their showy best.
Located in the heart of North Carolina's Christmas Tree Country, The Place on the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Milepost 248, is the perfect spot to get away and be renewed.
Many maintain that the only way to appreciate this home is to sit a spell on the sweeping farmhouse porch. Fill your cup with steaming coffee, put your feet up, and enjoy the view. Whether overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway winding through the woods below, watching deer come to eat from the apple tree, or the cows on the other side of the valley below, you will find your tensions oozing from every pore.
Once your body is attuned to the cool crisp mountain atmosphere, you will find yourself energized and looking for things to do. Hiking, canoeing, fishing, Appalachian music . . . whatever your interest, you will find your vacation home located in the center of the activities. We have listed many of these area events and attractions below.

“Great central location for sightseeing in NC and Virginia.”
We stayed for a week and were able to venture out to Paint Bank VA, Chimney Rock, Mt Airy, Damascus Va, Banner Elk, Valle Cruces, Boone, Wilmington Race Track and alot of other area attractions. Saturday night dinner at Sarah's Place in Troutdale was a great experience. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed for a week long stay. It was perfect for our group and allowed us rest and relaxation at the fire pit each night. Weather was typical mountain forecasts for early May. We had only one evening of rain for the week. Plenty of great places to eat in Jefferson and Sparta at the local mom and pop restaurants. This is our fourth time to stay here over the past 12 years. We'll be back.
