Atlanta, GeorgiaThe Perfect Retreat
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The Palm House is perfectly appointed. The location is wonderful; nestled in the hills. We explored many different beaches, enjoyed surf lessons, went zip-lining, rock climbing, visited mud baths-everything you could possibly do in the area. It was always wonderful to return to The Palm House.
The hammock and the wonderful bed which sits over the pool; and the outdoor living space were all welcome spots to relax after a full day of activity.
The grounds are beautiful and the home has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. -

Unbelievably clean and kept home - we stayed over Christmas 2012 with 7 people, and had more than enough room to spread out. Loved sitting out on the veranda at night, and playing in the pool all day long. Luxurious home, and the daily grounds, pool, and cleaning service was an excellent touch. Don't tell the owners, but most homes do not offer this! I would recommend this home to anyone. Home is secluded and quiet, but in a totally safe neighborhood. My teenager loved the poolside "bed" and the hammock.

I booked the Palm House last minute when our group decided that we would be traveling to Costa Rica instead of elsewhere. Alexandra was very nice and accommodating when I spoke with her and the pictures of the house looked amazing so we made our decision right there. Glad we did! The house is even better in person. Great views. Amazing sunsets. Plenty of space. One of the easiest places to relax that I have ever rented. Everything you need is right there. What I liked most was that it was outside of any towns, very quite and peaceful back in the hills from the shore. It was a perfect home to relax at during the mornings and evenings while having good access to exploring and surfing any of the near by beaches. I have to say that my only complaint is not having a good internet connection. Not that you would ever want to spend much time in front of a computer here and I did appreciate it in that respect, but it would be nice to be able to look up information about the area and check up on a few thing back in the U.S. easily. I have yet to use any internet connection in this area though that was great so this wouldn't be something specific to the palm house! Still an excellent rental.

Staying in The Palm House is a wonderful experience - you hardly want to leave. We spent a week with our three kids at this heavenly place, offering enough room for all of us and being in excellent condition. Rarely did I see a place so well kept and with only the most sophisticated design. Martha the housekeper is very friendly and helpful and adds a lot to the charm of the property. The view towards the ocean at the horizon is magnific and invites you to spend all the time on the terrace or in the pool - but there are many attractions nearby. We visited all of the many beaches in the area, Playa Conchal being the most suitable for our baby because of its warm and calm waters, providing also much needed shade. We came in august, although it´s the green season, all outdoor activities are possible - enough to keep you busy. We hope to return soon.

Atlanta, GABest Vacation Ever!
Left on 06/10/2012 for a stay in May 2012
My husband and I recently returned from our first trip to Costa Rica, and we enthusiastically recommend the Palm House for anyone planning a trip to Tamarindo! The Palm House is absolutely gorgeous, and completely exceeded our expectations.
We rented an SUV and drove in from Liberia airport. We were able to find the house very easily. I am glad that we had a 4 wheel drive vehicle, however, because it is at the top of a very steep hill! The house is in a gated community, so it is a very safe environment. It overlooks a beautiful valley, with only 2-3 houses nearby, and is very private and peaceful. The house is also very close to several attractions. There is a Zip Line just down the road, which we enjoyed. We went horseback riding at Black Stallion Ranch, also just down the road. We went into Tamarindo often, for some meals and other activities, including an awesome massage and deep sea fishing. We also went to Lola's on Playa avellanas - don't miss this place! It is gorgeous!
But with all our activities, we were always eager to return to the beautiful Palm House. The house is very well appointed, with all the comforts of home (Wifi, Stereo, electric grill, Skype, etc.). The upstairs master bedroom is very comfortable, with high quality bedding and blackout drapes and its own individual air conditioner. We stocked up on groceries at the auto Mercado, and cooked many of our own meals. There are two staff people who manage and maintain the house. Marta is the housekeeper, and keeps everything immaculately clean. The appliances appear to have never been used, they are so clean! Wilder is the gardener, and maintains the gorgeous landscape and the beautiful pool. Both of them are so nice. And our hosts, Eduardo and alex, were so helpful, and touched base with us to make sure we had all we needed.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I wish I was still there in Costa Rica at the lovely Palm House! I would love to return one day soon.

This was our second trip to Costa Rica and this time we stayed at The Palm House with our family and a friend. It is an excellent place for a vacation. The place is exactly like the pictures, except that that the view is much better and the bathtub in the upstairs master bedroom is big enough for 4 people.
We flew into Liberia airport and had rented a car ahead of time. The drive to the villa took about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The villa is located in a very private estate with a gate and it sits near the top of the hill overlooking the valleys around Tamarindo. To get to the villa I would recommend renting a 4x4 as the last 200 meters up the hill are very steep. We've had friends drop by one day in a regular sedan and they made it up and down, but I'd rather not try that in the rainy season. The enclosed courtyard on the front of the house offers ample parking for two cars.
The drive to or from Tamarindo and its beaches takes a good 15 minutes, partially over very uneven gravel roads, but the trip is worth it. And Tamarindo offers ample shopping opportunities, both from a touristic perspective as well your typical grocery needs. But groceries we felt were price wise on par with what you see in the us.
The layout of the villa is ideal with one large bedroom with a King size bed and 2 showers downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs (each with their own bathroom). Plus there is a half bath downstairs.
We spend most of our time in the outside living space that has a large dining and seating area and overlooks the pool. We traveled with our 8 month old and 3 year old sons and it worked perfectly for them too. There was a nice shallow 2 inch deep part of the pool, followed by easy steps in to the deeper water. two sets of patio tables and chairs in the shallow end of the pool made for enjoyable relaxation even for those that didn't want to dive into the water. Various times per week somebody would come to service and clean the pool.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. I would say it offers much more than you would find in a typical vacation rental. This was / is as if you have everything that you have in your own home.
The rest of the house is equally well equipped. Free wifi (3G based) and the router seems to be able to handle about 3 devices at a time. A skype phone with a us number. Well working aC in all rooms as well as ceiling fans. Tv's in the two main bedrooms. Stereo equipment in the indoor living area.
The villa also has an electrical BBQ, offers beach chairs, bikes, umbrellas, etc.
Oh, obviously there are dedicated towels provided for the pool area. And every day except Sundays the housekeeper comes to clean the house and where necessary provide new / cleaned bath towels.
Speaking of the housekeeper; Martha, we arranged with the home owners that she would help us with meals as well. And that worked out perfectly. Every day she came a bit early to prepare, serve and clean up breakfast. Next she would clean the house and by the time we were tired from reading or jumping in the pool she would have lunch prepared. Same thing again in the evening. In one word she was excellent and cooked very creatively and enjoyable food with lots of fresh local products.
It made our stay even more perfect and we can highly recommend the Palm House to anybody that wants to enjoy this area of Costa Rica. -

The house design and location is just superb. We had breakfast outdoors and drinks with the sunset. The sun trajectory goes perfectly with the hammock and sunset sets in line with the table and pool.
Recommended and ideal for families or several couples, the property is very private and safe.
Service, internet and appliances were great! We will return for sure! Cannot wait!!!

This home sits on a hilltop 15 minutes away from the Tamarindo beach. We wanted to spend a week in the beach but not in a hotel, and The Palm House was everything we expected. It is within a private gated community so we felt very safe. The house itself is gorgeous, spacious rooms, beautiful bathrooms, and a wonderful terrace. The kids had a great time in the pool, while the rest of us had had a drink watching the beatiful sunsets... We love Costa Rica beaches in the Pacific, and this house is just a short drive from many beaches. One day we went to Tamarindo (one of my favorite spots), the next day to Pirate Bay, and the next day to avellanas, where I tried to do some surf but it was just too hard (or maybe I am getting too old), and then some lunch at Lola´s. The rest of the days we spent at the house, just relaxing or busy with the BBQ. The service was great, Marta the housekeeper was very friendly and attentive to our every needs. A truly enjoyable experience and you can´t beat the location.

Left on 12/19/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Eduardo and alexis have managed to create such an Oasis with-in the Palm House that you really don't want to leave the property. The views, sunrises, sunsets the silence up there is beyond description. Wonderful Wonderful!!
Architecturally, a very well thought out home, that takes full advantage of the outdoor surroundings. The home is furnished in such a way that the overall flow of the home is done in good detail.
In case you can tear yourself away, there are beaches, night life, shopping on and on maybe 10 minutes away.
The pictures shown in the web-site actually do not do The Palm House justice, as it looks better in person.
We will be there next year without a doubt, for a much longer stay.

I thoroughly recommend staying here. My Fiancee and I loved Palm House and were sorry to leave!
This is a newly built, stylish, well equipped house. It has tranquil and modern (internal and external) living spaces, including very modern kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable beds. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The house has great views/sunsets, good Wifi, is very secure and has a wonderful medium sized pool. It is one hour from Liberia airport and 10 mins from the coast. A rental car is required. The Owners are very organised and Staff were excellent.
I found the property on Flipkey (property 210681). -

The Palm House located just outside Tamarindo, Costa Rica was the perfect destination for a couple of weary northerners looking for warm weather and luxury. Palm House is Located about six miles from Tamarindo and a quick drive to the beach(rent a 4X4)...but dont fret the locale not being beachfront. Located on a small ranch/farm it is a stunning setting, the home is very well appointed with all the things necessary to relax and enjoy. Stunning views/vistas, amazing pool, clean/contemporary casual house with amazing spa like baths(indoor and outdoor showers), gracious host owners, and a fantastic friendly staff (house and pool)...a quick drive to town for supplies, night of music/entertainment/food, fabulous beaches. It was perfect! The sound of walking to the monkey was an added plus that made out stay so very memorable! Thanks Eduardo and alex, we will gladly be back!

The house is exceptionally well maintained and designed. Located in the hills, gives a nice break from the intense sun of the beach area, and the views are breathtaking! Eduardo and alexandra are wonderful hosts, and make sure every need is met. We look forward to our return visit!

Palm House exceeded our expectations: great location close to all the best beaches in Guanacaste, breathtaking views of the landscape and Pacific sunsets, as well as the very high standard in the style and finishings of the house.
We loved the property so much that we ended up spending most of our time there. The owners as well as the staff were very nice and helpful.
