The rental company was great to work with due to the fact that we had icy conditions. The home is in like new condition with incredible views. I would definitely stay here again.

Poquoson, VirginiaWonderful Home!

Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was in an awesome area and we thoroughly enjoyed the view. We were lucky enough to have several thunderstorms and captured some amazing photos of rainbows. We also enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and large covered deck. The only negative we can come up with is the steep drive. It was quite scary for some of our travelers (my son, 7 and my mother, 65). Other than that, there are no negatives about the home!

Cary, NCWonderful cabin and a beautiful view!
Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in September 2012
A very nice cabin located high in the mountains with wonderful panoramic views. The cabin is nicely equipped and very comfortable. The furnishings are more on the upscale end and are pleasing to the eye. There is plenty of space for 4 or 5, though there was only 3 of us there during the week.
The cabin was very clean when we arrived and everything worked properly. My rating of average service has nothing to do with any problems with the cabin, as there were none. We did not hear from the property management company during the whole week of our stay, which is probably something that they could/should do as a matter of practice. Just a phone call checking in to make sure that all was well with the property seems to me to be a good practice. That being said, we have no complaints with anything about the property, it's condition, and the check-in/check-out procedures. -

CharlotteAmazing views from large porch
Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in September 2012
We love this property because the mountain views are amazing and the location is fairly private. There are 2-3 things you should consider however if you are looking to book this one:
1. There is a steep cliff at the edge of the property that is somewhat dangerous for small children and pets
2. The road to get to the property is really steep and the turn to get to the parking is a sharp 90 degrees.
3. Like many log cabins, there is very little insulation, so you can hear everything between bedrooms.
Other than that, the property is clean and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and supplies.

Charlotte, North CarolinaIt really is a "Heavenly View"
Left on 01/13/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We just got back from this house & we loved it. Have used Carolina Mtn rentals many times. Wonderful company (esp Jennifer) but I think this was out fave house yet! Up a steep incline but very private, you feel like you are on top of the world. House has a open concept living room & kitchen, nicely furnished. Could use a few more things in kitchen (as in measuring cups & larger coffee mugs). It has a master bedroom downstairs with a king bed & full bath. Another 1/2 bath downstairs. Upstairs is another master bedrm with bath, very comfy mattress. Then a loft with a twin bed. House was immaculatly cleaned. Wrap around porch with hot tub...wish it had rockers. Tv in upstairs bdroom didn't work; I waish there were more tv's (but then again my preference). Beautiful views; we watched sunrises & sunsets.Enough yard for our small dog. Close to town & grocery stores. We will rent this house again!

WilmingtomA great week in the mountains!
Left on 01/23/2012 for a stay in November 2011
We loved our stay during thanksgiving week. The cabins was close to everything, store, downtown West Jefferson and close to our other family members. Our grandson loved the place because he could go upstairs and enjoy the loft area.
We understand that the flies are a problem, we did notice that there were a lot of dead flies over the door area when you walked in. Would recommend the cleaning staff vacum the window sills.
We will stay here again! -

Cary, NCAnother great vacation!
Left on 12/01/2011 for a stay in October 2011
This was the 4th time we've stayed in a Heavenly View. It's just the right size for two couples - has everything we need for an enjoyable week without the added cost of something larger. We think of it as our home-away-from-home for a week in the fall.
We really like the location, we've stayed in a few of the homes on this hill. It's convenient distance from Boone and the Blue Ridge Parkway and there's a well-appointed grocery store nearby that's convenient to stop at on the way 'home' after a day out and about. And the views from the home are great - especially the sunrises!
We've been renting from Carolina Mountain Properties for many years and have always had a positive experience. We plan on continuing to rent through them for all our mountain vacations (until we can retire and move to the mountains permanently). -

The cabin was lovely. Perfect for my sister, friend and myself. Had a little problem with cell phone. Was not able to call long-distance as I was scammed on the phone when I tried to make a collect call-very bizarre situation. The stay in the cabin was great, I loved Direct TV. The only reason I would not return is the driveway and the scary assent to it.

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in October 2010
My wife and I took our 9th anniversary trip to this cabin. We used to live in NC and miss it horribly! It really had everything you could need. It was a perfect fit for a couple; close to West Jefferson but not too close. A short drive to hiking, canoeing, golf and Boone. We would stay there again.

Cary, NCWonderful Rental Home
Left on 02/07/2011 for a stay in October 2010
This was out 2nd stay in this same home, with the same friends - that in itself says something. The home is well appointed, with all that we could want. We love the location - close enough to major routes to make traveling around the area convenient but 'off the beaten path' enough to afford beautiful views. This home is perfectly situation to allow for both sunrise and reasonable sunset views.

Greensboro, NCPerfect place to spend a long weekend
Left on 02/07/2011 for a stay in April 2010
The cabin itself was beautiful and spotless. The location was easy to find and conveniently located just a short distance from the grocery store, gas station, etc. Had we been there in the Fall I am sure the view would have been amazing. The only complaints that I have are that the 1 & 1/2 person hot tub didn't accommodate nearly enough people (the size may have been indicated on the website and perhaps I overlooked it) and due to where the cabin is situated (on the side of a cliff) there was little grassy area for our dog to play. However, given the price that we paid, my family and I were very satisfied with this cabin.

Greensboro, NCDead Flies
Left on 03/25/2010 for a stay in December 2009
Overall my experience was some what aggrivating. My wife and I arrived to find that the house was filled with dead flies all through out the residence. I called the after hours number and spoke with a very helpful person who allowed us to inspect another residence nearby to see if it would be any better. We found that property to have dead flies as well. We chose to stay at our original residence which was cleaned while we went to supper. We arived back to find that the residence had been cleaned, but there were still numerous dead flies through out the residence, and the flies continued to amass thourgh the weekend. This was not the start that we had hoped for our first anniversary. Other than the dead flies the house was excellent. It would have been a throughly enjoyable weekend if not for the flies. The house was extremely neat and in good order. The people we spoke with and dealt with were extremeley helpful and very professional.
