Description
Croft House Barn is a lovely, characterful cottage for up to 6 (plus cots) in the scenic Peak District hamlet of Waterfall. 4 star Gold awarded by Quality in Tourism, you'll find three bedrooms, all ensuite - one on the ground floor - spacious living accommodation with ample comfortable seating, separate dining area and well-equipped light oak kitchen. But if you don't want to spend time cooking, the Red Lion Inn, with inviting log fires and serving home cooked food, is just a two minute stroll down the lane.
Carefully renovated over recent years, exposed stone and ancient oak timbers date from their 400 years use in the barn to our attached former farmhouse. (Guests privacy is paramount but we're nearby if needed!) Croft House Barn is now a cosy well-furnished home-from-home, with TV, music system, CDs, books, games - ideal for relaxing in comfort after exploring the many attractions and activities within easy reach.
Outside patios to front and small one at rear, with furniture and charcoal BBQ are great for those fine days - savour the peace and quiet, bee and butterfly friendly flower and herb beds and our resident garden birds! Prices include high quality linens and towels, heating, electricity, freesat and wifi, together with fresh flowers and 'welcome' pack including local and homemade produce.
Croft House barn is close to some most scenic areas in the south west Peak District National Park. Walk or cycle from the door to the spectacular Manifold Valley or drive to Ilam, Dovedale, the Roaches and Alton Towers Theme Park in under 20 minutes. Historic market towns, Ashbourne and Leek are under 15 minutes away, Choose from three reservoirs - Tittesworth, Carsington, Rudyard Lake - offering water sports, walks and wildlife: more than 6 stately homes or gardens, including the wonderful Chatsworth, Kedleston, and Haddon Hall plus heritage tours of The Potteries and Derwent Valley Mills: all reached in under an hour. The South West Peak Park is heaven for those who love exploring historic villages with quaint pubs and tea-rooms for cream teas, cakes and warming soups, while for the more active, there's climbing, horse-riding and golf in addition to rural rambles and miles of cycling trails for which it is even better known.

“Fabulous”
A real home from home with everything you would need. Beautiful quality soft furnishings, good showers, comfortable beds and lovely personal touches. Set in gorgeous countryside with great walks and nearby towns. Just simply ideal for a short break or longer.

“Beautiful cottage”
Perfect location for visiting Alton Towers and Chatsworth and the dales. The cottage was excellent, beautifully furnished to a high standard and very clean and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and it made a change to have good quality bedding and towels in a self catering property. We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

“Lovely quaint cottage - will be visiting again.”
Very impressed with the cottage and the area, some lovely walks. The owner's were close by if we needed anything but otherwise they left us alone to enjoy our holiday. Close to Matlock and Matlock Bath and the main attraction for our granddaughter was Gulliver's Kingdom. I would definitely recommend the holiday rental.

“Great stay”
Even though the skies did not stay clear and bright we had a wonderful stay. Croft farm is large and spacious but we were pleasantly surprised at how cosy and warm it felt. A trip to Llam gave all the family something to explore. Great memories can be made in just 3 days. Thanks you Stephanie for all your thoughtful touches to your lovely holiday rental.
