Description from owner
Description
The Annex is part of The Old Posthouse , built circa 1640 and is found just on the edge of an AONB at Lower Weare in Axbridge providing some fantastic walks from the front door.
The Old Posthouse Annex is situated on the main A38 but provides a comfortable suntrap setting with a magnificent backdrop of Crooks Peak and surrounding area.
There are local pubs within walking distance , The Lamb ( four doors away!) , The New Inn and The White Hart within a mile and then you have Axbridge Square with more!! ( still within walking distance , just a little longer, around 1.5miles).
The Old Posthouse Annex has a kitchen and lounge area with stairs to the bedroom and bathroom ( having both shower and bath facilities). The bedroom is situated at the back of the Annex and views can be seen of Crooks Peak in spring and autumn ( when trees allow) . There is a small courtyard to the rear of the Annex where you will be able to relax in the sun on an afternoon (weather permitting of course !)
Being situated on the A38 The Annex provides a great base for a sightseeing holiday in Somerset and has great links to Bristol airport , (16 miles ) Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare , Wells, Cheddar, Axbridge , Glastonbury , Street and much more.

“Fantastic”
What can I say.? It was perfect for us. Meeting up with my Brother from America, who I haven't seen for 3 years. We have two doggies and didn't want the constraints of a hotel or guest house. Lovely little yard out back for BBQ and drinks etc. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped for all we needed. The bonus for me was the tower fan in the bedroom. Much needed The owners live next door are very friendly but don't infringe on your privacy . WE will most certainly be back. Thank you Kenny and Jo xxx

“The Old Posthouse Annex.”
Lovely little place. Ideal for a couple and in an area within east reach of all Somerset has to offer. Situated on the relatively busy A38, there is some road noise but it didn’t affect our holiday.

“Lovely little Annex!”
We stayed here recently with our pup and the annex is the perfect location for some country walks right from the doorstep! And also great access to local places nothing is really that far away! The accommodation was clean and cosy, only issue was with it being on a road the traffic noise during the night was a little loud for light sleepers if you don’t have ear plugs

“Lovely cottage, beautiful location”
My husband, myself & our rather large dog stayed here for a week at the end of July. The cottage was perfect. Lovely, cosy & exactly what we needed. Location is fantastic. Cheddar is 3 miles away & the Gorge will take your breath away. Glastonbury & Wells are within 30 mins drive. The beach is also close. The property owners live Nextdoor & are very helpful & friendly but not in your face. They are more than happy to advise on places to visit & directions. There are 2 lovely pubs, The White Hart & The New Inn are within walking distance @ a village called Cross. The road to the pubs (The old coach road) is very pretty. Stunning views of the Mendips. The food at the New Inn was lovely - we ate there a number of times during our stay. Axbridge is just over a mile away & is in walking distance through the fields. This is also worth a visit. All in all, we loved our little holiday & will return to the beautiful Somerset & fingers crossed to this lovely cottage.
