Response from the owner Firstly the cost of your weekend was £1720. this was for 3 nights for 26 people. We do take a security deposit,to ensure that on your departure the property is left as as it was on your arrival. We then have to check the property and clean, we do not expect to clean up the remains of a party and mess ,which includes drinks spillages on all the tables and coffee tables, the kitchen floor our feet were sticking to,this was down to drink spillages, cookers covered in grease also In the cookers trays not cleaned put away dirty, the property was left rather filthy, with bins filling over, champagne glasses with champagne left in them in the bedrooms. And you yourself said that you had a wonderful weekend, until I wouldn’t check the property in 10 minutes and commit to returning your money before you left. We keep a book of all notes on the property,I explained this to you, this is what staff fill in ,but you didn’t request to see it .This was all previously explained to yourself, you were fine about this until your departure trying to get myself to commit that the property was all Ok, which I actually found rather strange as you were fine with this on your arrival and we then found a broken leg on a coffee table,we charged yourself for the repair which was £50.00. I explained to you ,due to the size of the property it would take hours to go through and check everything. As to stripping beds,I believe this is standard practice in self catering let’s and it makes life easier as we then know what beds have and haven’t been used. Again we do ask people to leave the property as it was on their arrival and not in a state of filth. The property dates back to 1086 and is furnished with items that match the properties character ,this is not clutter, this obviously doesn’t suit your own personal tastes. This property is for people who appreciate character.
