Description

This detached cottage in the village of Baslow in the Peak District National Park can sleep four people in two bedrooms.Clematis Cottage is a stone built, detached cottage located in the small village of Baslow on the edge of the Chatsworth Estate in the Peak District National Park. With one double and one twin bedroom and a family bathroom with a freestanding Victorian style bath, this cottage can sleep four people in comfort. The cottage also contains a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a comfy sitting room with a woodburner effect gas stove whilst outside the cottage is a front patio with furniture and arbour. Clematis Cottage is next door to a shop and Post Office and just a short walk from the local pub which makes this cottage a perfect base for exploring this lovely area.

Amenities: Gas central heating with gas stove. Gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, 3 x TVs with Freeview, DVD, CD, WiFi, selection of books, CDs, games and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair. Roadside parking opposite cottage. Front patio with furniture and arbour. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop next door, pub 10 mins walk. Note: Steep cottage stairs, please take care.

Region: The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: The village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
