Sea Beauty: ADA-Friendly Island Cottage w/ 300-feet of Private Beach, Hammocks

East End house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Beautiful, peaceful, relaxation!” My wife and I stayed at Sea Beauty last month with our son, his wife and our 14 year old grandson. Owners Cathy and Jerry Frazier met us at the door with the keys and gave us a complete walk-thru and instructions for the house. Nothing was left to be desired at Sea Beauty. It has been completely remodeled and appointed with only the best, leaving nothing to be needed. Sea Beauty is an ideal location, about 20 minutes to the shops and restaurants of George Town and 20 minutes to our favorite place on the island,Rum Point on the north side. The best part of Sea Beauty is its 300 feet of private beach with great snorkeling and swimming, and especially the hammocks under the sea grape trees, always in the shade overlooking the white sandy beach. This has to be one of the most relaxing, beautiful places anywhere! Also, it is only about 20 minutes to a full-service grocery store and five minutes to two nice restaurants, especially The Lighthouse, less than two miles away. We can't say enough about this beautiful home, renovated in the classic Cayman cottage style, and the helpfulness of Jerry and Cathy. They even supplied us with cell phones with pre-programmed phone numbers for certain services. We will certainly be returning to this beautiful paradise!

“GREAT PLACE” Really a great place for a family vacation. The pool was perfect for adults and our grandson age 21 mo. was perfect with the ledge area, so he could get in and play. The attractions were visited and very nice. Games , books and info of things to do and see were available. We had our Thanksgiving dinner by the pool on the beach and it was awesome.

Cayman Reef Resort #50 - Best Value on the Beach

Seven Mile Beach apartment

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Excellent Long Term Stay” Unit 50 was very suitable for my wife and me for a four week visit. We thought the overall experience was excellent and it provided excellent value for our money. We would definitely recommend Unit 50 and we plan to return. Don't expect luxury, but do expect comfort, convenience and a relaxing place to stay. The owner, Marc, is very well organized, responsive, a good communicator and a pleasure to deal with. There were no surprises. Marc's information packages were clear with all the information we needed for our stay in the condo plus he provided helpful information about the island. The resort is clean and well maintained with a good pool, on a non-crowded section of the beach with plenty of beach chairs for all. The resort staff were very helpful. The resort is very well located on Seven Mile beach within easy walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and Camana Bay shopping. If loaded down with groceries, we took a taxi back. We did not need a car, although we rented one for a couple of days to explore the island farther afield, which I would recommend. If you dive, the resort is an easy walk along the beach to the Red Sail Sports locations at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites (GCBS) or the Marriott. If you own and don't rent, you can store your gear in lockers at GCBS so there is no need to lug it back and forth. The apartment is spacious and is comfortably furnished. We cooked and ate four to five dinners/lunches per week in the condo and ate at restaurants the other times. The electric barbeque works well but takes longer to heat up and to cook than a gas one, so we had to learn to plan accordingly. We took advantage of the option to have the apartment cleaned half-way through our stay. Our unit was at the back of the property overlooking the pool with a view of the sea in the distance. It was generally quiet, although there is construction on the adjacent property to the south and we could hear the backhoe from the pool area. Sometimes the Royal Palms Beach Club, three units north, plays music loudly when the cruise ship passengers are in or there is a special event. This is a benefit or a curse depending on your point of view. In summary, we found Unit 50 to be a good place to stay and we recommend it to others.

Kai Kotch, #17 Island Houses of Cayman Kai, Rum Pt

North Side apartment

2 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Tranquility” Traveled to Grand Cayman with a couple girlfriends and chose Kai Kotch based on reviews here and was not disappointed! We wanted a peaceful vacation and that's exactly what we got. Kai Kotch #17 was spacious and clean and we really enjoyed hanging out by the swimming pool and paddling in the bioluminescent pool. We were very close to many beaches (and much of the time they were private to us, as we traveled in the off-season). We couldn't have asked for more. When we had a question about something (like not being able to get the TV to work, or that the outdoor pool lights were off) someone was there to help us almost immediately. Tim adam was very pleasant to work with and also very courteous. We would gladly stay in Grand Cayman (and at Kai Kotch) in the future.

Grand Cayman Northern Lights Beachfront Villa

Old Man Bay condo

2 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“A piece of heaven in the Carribean” We arrived at Northern Lights after a long, cold, snowy winter to find a place that exceeded our expectations. Many times during the week, we spoke about how happy we were that we chose Northern Lights. The setting is quiet, serene and peaceful. The trade winds made the air-conditioner a useless item. The sound and smell of the ocean was soothing and enticing. The pool was delightful and clean. Our primary goal, other than relaxing and warming up, was snorkeling. Other than the day we went to Stingray City, all of our snorkeling was immediately in front of our condo. A short swim brought us to a great barrier reef. Our favorite "finds" were scorpion fish[very hard to see], a yellow spotted ray, and a lion fish. Although the lion fish is an invasive species, it was very interesting to see it, none the less. The condo had everything we needed, and we elected to prepare most of our meals in the full kitchen. We ate our meals on the lanai, and actually spent most of our time out there. The other residents were friendly and pleasant. None of them were noisy or intrusive. Bo, the condo owner, was delightful: warm, friendly, helpful and informative. We learned a lot about the island from him, something that we really appreciated. Both couples were very satisfied with our bedrooms and private baths. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms separate the two bedrooms so there was plenty of privacy. We could not hear the downstairs TV at all if the other couple were watching it. All in all, this was the perfect place for us. We totally recommend it for those people who prefer peace and quiet, rather than the noise and frenetic activity that seems to abound in other parts of the island. We would love to return to Northern Lights.

Beachfront Rum Point Retreat #31 Condo Ground Flr

Rum Point apartment

2 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Rum Point + The Retreat #31 = Wonderful Family Vacation” This was our first visit to the Cayman Islands and against some advice to stay on Seven Mile Beach (because we have 3 active sons ages 11-16) we decided to stay on the quieter side at Rum Point. We were all thrilled with that decision! The pictures online of the Retreat sold me--I wanted to be right on the point and walk right onto the beach--which is exactly how it was. Karen was great to work with and provided excellent information and suggestions prior to arriving. The condo itself was wonderfully clean and stocked with everything we needed and more. The third bed, made and ready for one of our boys in the second bedroom was a very nice extra touch. Having the restaurant, the wreck beach bar and red sail sports right next door was awesome and we used all of it daily. I just can't say enough about the wonderful location of the Retreat. None of use wanted to leave the point because it had everything we needed included awesome snorkeling, our own stingray and sea turtle encounters, bioluminescence in the bay, starfish beach and fun beach bbq's. Wonderful, wonderful place to stay.

Two Rainbows: Beach Lovers Paradise in Cayman Kai w/ Pool & Beautiful Barefoot

Rum Point house

5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“Two Rainbows is a peaceful, secluded and affordable villa perfec” Our stay at Two Rainbows was our fourth visit to Grand Cayman. Check-in was absolutely painless. We had great instructions and were able to walk right in a get settled in a matter of a few minutes. Having previously stayed on Seven Mile beach and the North Side, we can say that it is our favorite location so far. If you want seclusion, peace and quiet, this is the place. If you want convenience to Georgetown and the action, this is not for you. We are used to driving a half an hour to get fuel or groceries, so it was no issue for us. If you visit in the winter, this villa is located out of the Christmas Wind that is prevalent on the North Side, which makes it much nicer to spend time on the beach. Speaking of which, the beach was clean and the water smooth. Snorkeling is limited and the swimming is less than ideal as there is a fair amount of grass in the shallows in front of the house, but if you feel like venturing out a bit farther there is some nice water to be had. The currents have washed quite a bit of sand around the point so the beach out front is quite wide and the water shallow. Kids will love it. We loved the screened in porch which allowed the breeze through, but not the bugs. The pool was small but adequate for a refreshing dip. The house was clean, roomy and well appointed with the exception of no stereo or outdoor speakers for music. We really missed that! There are several steps to get in or out of the house at every exit, so consider that for anyone in your group that has a problem with steps. Two hammocks are perfectly positioned and made for "naps with a view." A kayak or two would enhance the water experience since it is so calm in the bay. It is so convenient to Rum Point your will probably go there every day. The food there is exceptional. Overall, Two Rainbows is a really good value and a great place for a quiet beach get-away. We would recommend it to anyone who looking for laid back seclusion.

4BR Pool View at Boggy Sands Club, Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach condo

4 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“Heaven on Earth in Grand Cayman” The reviews and pictures don't begin to do this Boggy Sand Road property justice! We rented the ground floor unit, which was absolutely spotless, elegant, roomy, well-equipped and only a few steps to the most beautiful beach. The area is residential, private and quiet - like we had somehow privately rented Seven Mile Beach! The grounds of the property were garden-like and the pool was lovely and clean. Our rental car was nice to have but not necessary - there is a Foster's Market within a short walk of the condo, as well as a few great little restaurants (Alfresco's, Timbuctuu and Heritage Kitchen). The bus service is great - more like hailing a cab with pick-up right at the foot of the driveway. But back to the beach...the unit is equipped with 2 kayaks and a paddle board, which we enjoyed tremendously on the calm, crystal-clear waters. Cemetery Beach is right next door for some of the best snorkeling we had ever experienced. The Kittiwake Shipwreck is directly off shore for another fantastic snorkeling experience. We even enjoyed swimming with our own resident sea turtle every day! The condo unit itself was spacious and fully equipped with everything you need - beach towels, chairs, umbrella, rafts and cooler;fully-equipped, gorgeous kitchen with granite counter tops, beautiful and spacious bathrooms, and super-comfortable beds. Although our "kids" were 15, the unit would be wonderful for families with smaller children as well. I must say, the absolute best part, however, was our gracious host Morne, who made us feel like pampered family members visiting from out of town. He picked us up from the airport, made sure we had everything we needed, made great recommendations for activities and restaurants, was never intrusive but always available for anything we needed. I would (and will) vacation here again in a heartbeat, and make the highest recommendation to anyone to enjoy the vacation of a lifetime at this property! Just please don't take the week I want! ;)

Cayman Dream: Rum Point Beach Bungalow with Pool for Oceanfront Living

Rum Point house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Cayman Dream” We rented Cayman Dream in early June of 2013. We were very happy with the house. It's exactly as the pictures show. The kitchen is very well appointed and the grounds are kept very nicely. It's located in a nice quiet area with very little traffic. Our only complaint with the house was the phone/wifi. It was out for three of the six days that we were there and even after it had been fixed we had to constantly reset while we used it. With our children back in the states, we felt really out of touch. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying there.

Spectacular Oceanfront directly on 7 Mile Beach - Discovery Point Club #11

Seven Mile Beach apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 5

“The perfect location...Coffee in the morning on the porch with the ocean.” We just returned from a 10 night stay in Unit 11. This condo complex is away from the crowds of the big hotels but still has the perfect private stretch of 12 mile beach. Jim and Gail who own Unit 11 were the perfect hosts....welcoming us to their condo with an information booklet, brochures, and a cruise ship schedule so we could avoid Georgetown and tours when there were a lot of ships in port. They sent us an email before we went, and made us feel like family. The unit itself was decorated in bright colors in the beach theme. We admired the many pieces of art throughout the condo showing all the wonderful places in Grand Cayman The wifi reception was perfect as was the TV reception on both TVs. We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and the washer and dryer were a big plus. We loved starting the day with our coffee and breakfast on the screened in porch watching the lovely water and hearing the waves. The complex was quiet, but all the staff were friendly. We were afraid to drive on the left initially, but after a couple of days relaxed and went to the many amazing restaurants that Grand Cayman has to offer. There are some amazing chefs on this lovely island. The grocery store was just down the road and we loved having the option to cook or go out to eat. On Super Bowl Sunday, we stayed "home" grilled steaks on the communal grill, cranked up the blender and had our own little party in our wonderful temporary home away from home while we watched the sun set over the ocean and listened to the waves. We could always find beach chairs with umbrellas, and enjoyed snorkeling in "our backyard". The beach was well maintained with soft sand. We went on a fishing trip and to Captain Marvin's Stingray city. The unit was clean and cheerful and we had daily maid service with clean towels and a washed floor. Discovery Point Unit 11 was the perfect place to get away from our dreary Oregon weather. Our vacation ended way too soon and we hope we have the opportunity to return someday. Take the opportunity to rent this comfortable condo which is in the perfect location and has the support of such friendly owners.
