“A wonderful holiday.” We had a great holiday at Groomscott apartment. We were made very welcome by Dan and Kirsty and had a lovely welcome package which included wine and chocolates. The apartment was spotless and well cared for. It was peaceful and very quiet and in a beautiful location overlooking Bossington Hill. Easy access to Porlock. We would definitely like to return there sometime.

“Lovely, clean, comfortable and quiet location for a relaxing break.” The property is situated in a quiet area with lovely views. Car would be needed to get out an about to see all the villages close by and to go out to eat. Very rural location so need to be prepared for narrow roads . If you are a walker there are plenty of different walks to do with breath taking views.

“See it to believe it !” Some people start reviews with making a list of all the bad points of a property. That's easily done then because there aren't any!! This is a brand new, two bedroom luxury cottage. The kitchen is ultra modern with all necessary amenities, the living room is huge with a log burning fire and a large flat screen TV. The bedrooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. Both bedrooms have en-suite bath or shower rooms. There is a first floor lounge, without TV, with a huge panoramic french window giving fabulous views of the beach and Porlock Weir. We were originally booked into another property which became water damaged. Chris at The Best of Exmoor sorted Splatt Barn for us at the last minute. Bless him!! The cottage is just out of Porlock and away from what little noise is generated by the village. The cottage is very quiet at night. There is a five minute walk into Porlock passing a very helpful visitors centre on the way. The whole area is beautiful and is riddled with well signposted walks if you are of the mind. Mobile phone coverage can be a bit iffy at times, but that is a good thing . Isn't it ? Try it. You will love it.

Excellent lodging, great location.

Groomscott Apartment is very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The owners obviously care. The area is very quiet and the location is excellent - great for walking the country lanes around Porlock Village, taking the hikes laid out in Porlock Walks and enjoying peaceful lunches at charming places like Porlock Weir, where time seems to stand still. Porlock Village itself is a beautiful, historic place with an Early English church containing a Crusader effigy and a 1000 year-old yew tree in the churchyard as well as lovely thatched buildings and all the amenities a visitor needs. The owners of the apartment live next door and are friendly but unobtrusive. Highly recommended. … see more

We (2 adults, 2 children and a Cocker Spaniel) had a fabulous time at Grace Cottage. It was very quaint, but had everything we needed. It is in an excellent location in Porlock with easy access to everywhere. Peaceful and relaxing holiday which suited me perfectly.

I had a lovely holiday in Little Court Apartment. I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived and settled in quickly. Everything necessary was provided to make the stay enjoyable. The weather was hot and so I sat on the secluded patio every afternoon after returning from walks, visits or the beach. I relaxed and read - perfect.
