“One of our best holidays” What a fantastic time we had at Briarcliffe Cottage. made very welcome, the cottage it's self was brilliant, very comfortable and very spacious. Loved the garden area aswell as I think we booked the best week of the year. 10 out of 10

“Superb!” Stunning and spacious property. Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. Spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Easily accommodated our party of 8. Hosts were pleasant and helpful, on hand if required but not intrusive. A bottle of wine in the chiller and a home made chocolate cake awaited us on arrival. Our party ranged in age from 11 - 80 , everyone enjoyed their stay and would be delighted to return.

“Well placed pretty and nicely finished cottage for a break in th” First time using Sykes and will certainloy be returning to them for another break. No problems and received regular email updates with driving directions and entrance instructions. The cottage was easily found with either some very simple directions supplied or by Sat Nav. We found this cottage nice and centrally located for our weeks holiday and proved to be a good base for us and what we chose to do. It's only a short drive to the Windermere and Kendal for example. Well worth the drive to Ulverstone via the Kirk Stone Pass to Ullswater Lake and a cruise on there. Even closer is Grange over Sands a nice quaint town, shame there was no beach there though. Cottage has a nice blend of old v new decoration with a very nicely finished kitchen and main bathroom whilst the rest of the cottage had more rustic feel to it. Only grumble about the cottage we had was the bed / matress in the main bedroom. I Personally feel that these could do with being replaced as both my wife and I found this very uncomfortable which stopped us from giving an excellant review for comfort. Worth noting for members of the National Trust that you will get free car parking in a number of car parks which could work out saving a small fortune over the time of a holiday in the Lake District

“Plenty to see and to do but a quiet place to stay” The views are spectacular. The accomodation is comfortable and the landlady is very friendly. It's a nice place for children. We loved to play with the dogs.

“Great Base For The Lakes” The property is only small,but was a great base camp for a week away with only a short walk or drive to most places.It has all modern ammenities but does not have an open fire. Very clean and very well presented would definately return for a future visit.

“Great stay at ash Pot Barn” I stayed at ash Pot Barn with 6 other ladies. We had a great time. We couldnt fault our stay in anyway. We would definatley return, especially in Summer as it has a great BBQ area overlooking the Fells, But was cosy in the winter when we went. We walked to the Fat Lamb pub which took about 1 hour 10 mins. Secluded location but perfect for relaxing and staying in, great kitchen/living area. Bedrooms spacious and everywhere very clean.

“perfect location, perfect accommodation” This is a perfect cottage for two. It is surprisingly spacious, with a very well appointed kitchen, comfortable seating, exceptionally large bathroom with plenty of hot water. It is spotlessly clean. The added bonus is the parking space and proximity to ambleside. Wifi would have been the icing on the cake but there were plenty of wifi cafes and pubs in ambleside. The booking procedure and key arrangements were straight forward. We loved it and will be going back later this year

“Fantastic Rental Cottage” We stayed at Swallow's nest for our anniversary in Sept 11. The interior was finished to a very high standard, it was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed buying the amazing produce of the lake district and cooking it up back at the cottage, enjoying the views as we ate. The location is good, close to Penrith town centre, and good transport links into the Lake District. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back.

“Tranquil haven” A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return.

“Absolutely delightful!” Raceside Cottage is an absolute jewel of the Lakes! From the scrummy cakes and bread as a welcome gift, to the well thought out books and visitor leaflets for planning days out, Raceside Cottage had it all! We had a relaxing week in august including the dog - the accommodation was of the highest standard and had every utensil you could have needed. The bedrooms were cosy with plenty of storage, lovely bathroom and a great open plan kitchen/lounge. It was just a 15minute walk from the beach and the King William pub 2 mins away, does a fab steak! Although on the West coast, most visitor attractions were within easy driving.
