“Fabulous!” A great welcome and the best cottage I've ever stayed in - clean, high quality furniture and fittings, well stocked, warm, cosy, beautiful location, with lots to see and do nearby. Collecting fresh eggs was a highlight of the day.

“family holiday” The cottage was a really nice one, there was 6 adults and my then 6month old grandaughter. We had plenty of room so nobody was in one anothers way. There was plenty of information of what was around and about to do, which was helpful for us when we had done all we had planned. I phoned the owners the day before and they were really helpfull they answered all i asked. The only let down we had was the lack of cleaning my eldest daughter and myself had to clean from top to bottom as there was dog hairs everywhere and when i washed the floors i had to change the water 3 times. The drive up to the cottage is a long way from the road but we didnt mind that. Dont run out of anything as the nearest shops are a fair distance. What we all liked was the open views we had, the viaduct was in sight from the sunlounge, the people was all so frindly. Would we go again... yes we would.

“Great stay at ash Pot Barn” I stayed at ash Pot Barn with 6 other ladies. We had a great time. We couldnt fault our stay in anyway. We would definatley return, especially in Summer as it has a great BBQ area overlooking the Fells, But was cosy in the winter when we went. We walked to the Fat Lamb pub which took about 1 hour 10 mins. Secluded location but perfect for relaxing and staying in, great kitchen/living area. Bedrooms spacious and everywhere very clean.

“Lovely cottage ideally placed for walking in the Dales.” Cottage well equipped, spotlessly clean and cosy. Home made marmalade and fresh eggs were a treat. Hawes only 10 minutes away. Lots of walks to suit everyone. Railway line opposite was a novelty. Owners very easy to get on with and friendly - the file in the cottage which tells you everything you need to know is worth its weight in gold! We will definately return.

“Tranquil haven” A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return.

Woodbine Cottage, Ambleside

Ambleside house

“lovely comfortable cottage great location” we really enjoyed our time at woodbine cottage. It is centrally located, two minutes to the nearest pub! it is cosy especially with the log burner going in winter. The cottage has modern decoration and is comfortable. I would definately book again, the sykes agents was friendly and helpful. The only down side was the parking, it was a gamble whether there was space available by the cottage and ambleside has car parks but they can be expensive.Still that said, will still go back again and again.great walking and beautiful countryside any season.

MILL COTTAGE, character, enclosed garden, open-fire, ample parking, in Garnett
Lovely old cottage, lovely owners, lovely area

great place, lovely flagstone floors, aga in the kitchen which is on all the time, perfect for drying wet clothes after the inevitable walk in the rain. lots of toys for young children and board games for older people. Good sounding stereo (bring some CDs) and an open log fire with a guard for safety (not that I can keep a fire going). Wifi is in next house and only worked for me held up to a window or on the kitchen worktop so for anything other than specific use (eg check your email, quick browse) it's not there. No phone signal either but there is a phone (pay phone or incoming). Still you probably want to get away from all that. Lovely walks on hills in immediate vicinity and of course 15mins from Windermere.see more
GRAYRIGG FOOT STABLE, Wi-fi, off road parking, open fire. Ref: 972379
The most amazing experience

We had the most amazing time at Grayrigg. As soon as we got there after a long tiring journey from London, we were welcomed with a roaring log fire, home made mince pies and flapjacks. The owners couldn't be more welcoming and the cottage is so beautiful (the pictures don't do this wonderful place justice) and the setting picturesque... I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and hopefully will return ourselves.see more
