“Amazing house rental and fantastic location for lots of hiking!” My husband and I and our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moose Lodge. It is a wonderful place, perfectly clean, and everything you could want in a home. It is also a fantastic location to hikes of new routes every day for more than a week! We didn't even get to do all the hikes we wanted to do. You are also not far from restaurants and groceries too. I highly recommend the Moose Lodge :)

“Great place to stay!” We truly enjoyed staying here. Very nice home with lots of space for everyone. Love the open floor plan. Close to town and local attractions but very private. Huge porches, nice garage. Well appointed. Sauna is a great way to wind down at the end of the day. Hiawatha's Hideaway Rentals is great to work with - very professional and dependable. Look forward to our next stay!

“Wonderfully comfortable home away in the Northwoods” 5 minutes is all it took to appreciate the attention to detail Rick put into this place. Small but very accommodating place that provided exactly the type of inviting warmth in virtual solitude we were seeking. Perfectly equipped to stay in and cook meals, relax by the fire and listen to music. Our canine companion had the freedom to run and explore while walking the property/neighborhood. Never felt like the cabin was lacking anything. The lighted trees created a wonderful ambiance at the end of the day. Overall, a perfect retreat for couples and we will be back to explore in the summer.

“Another awesome visit to Kishauwau!” This is our third trip to Kishauwau. They never disappoint. This place is absolutely amazing. It is quiet and tranquil---set back among tall trees, and a nice distance from the other cabins on the property. The owners, Jamie and Theresa are very kind, accommodating and eager to please. They make you feel like family here. With Starved Rock and Matthieson State Parks, plus the wineries, shops and restaurant/bars in nearby Utica, there is always something to do. But really, it is very tempting to just kick back and relax in your cozy, comfortable, and immaculately clean Kishauwau Cabin!

“Wonderful!” We stayed in the Heron's Nest for a family reunion. It was a wonderful! Both the reunion and the cabin and the stay. Being on the river was a different experience for me as I'm used to lakes and beaches. But it was superlative! The morning mists cloaked the river in a blanket of fog from which trees, water, and the occassional barge emerged slowly over the early morning. The chimes played a quiet background vibrant hum that was quite appropriate. I sat out on the deck and watched the mists rise and dissipate then watched the sunlight play as sparkling diamonds over the water. It was wonderful and I did some writing in this wonderful environment. I plan to come back just for myself in the future. I wouldn't have left but I had to come back to the big city for my job. The cabin is multi-storied and big. Each of us, singly or as a mini-group, had our own level and plenty of room. Bug and Michelle and the rest of the staff are very warm and wonderful people and made us feel like family. The area abounds in so many things to do! Some days we just stayed in and grilled and enjoyed being there. Others we went out hiking, caving, and exploring. We definately all want to come back again next year! We had a wonderful time and now have wonderful memories! I would highly recommend these cabins and the Heron's Nest in particular. It's nicely situated on the river to watch the river and the small amount of river traffic (which are actually very nice to watch). And has a nice hot tub, campfire area, dock, etc. It's in nicely quietly remote yet not too far from a lot of fun things to do. Five stars! - Grant
