“The perfect spot” My wife and I, and our best friends decided to take a weeks winter vacation in Flagstaff. We were looking for a good hotel when we decided to see if we could find a cabin or condo. Luckily this was one of the first we looked at, and all I can say is we are happy we picked it. It is clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a successful vacation. We especially loved the fireplace for the cold mountain nights, and it didn't hurt that the 55 inch 3D tv was right next to it:). The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood, and is the perfect launching pad to everything whether it is Flagstaff, Sedona, Jerome, Grand Canyon or any of the many points of interest. Btw, Steve the owner is great and wants his quests to have a great time. Thanks Steve for the great vacation.

“Relaxing, clean, and homey” We had a wonderful time at Eric and Mary's place, using it as a home base for our trips to Sedona, the Canyon, and just around Flagstaff. The house was immaculately clean, with a seriously outfitted kitchen (the fondue pot was a nice surprise), a great fireplace, games, Dvds - everything we could want. Location is convenient, we could get to the main highway to the Canyon in just two right turns, and downtown is only moments away. Highly recommended!

“Too Clean” This place is great!!! The cabin is bigger than it looks in the pictures. As soon as we arrived we felt like we were home, very comfortable. There is a chain link fence around the whole property which worked otr great for letting our kids run around outside (boundaries of where they could and could not go were obvious). We spend most of our time in Flagstaff, which was a very quick drive to and from. There is a gas station near by for quick necessities. Next time I hope we can stay longer and I can explore some of the trails that are near the cabin. This place is great for all ages, even those with mobility issues could go through the sliding glass door in front, it only has two steps. Our only complaint, it was too clean; my wife walked straight into the sliding glass door on the back deck. Full face print, classic. (she's going to kill me when she reads this)

“Amazing views, amazing stay, and amazing host” Our family of 4 (2 children ages: 11 and 9 yo) traveled to Flagstaff for the weekend to get out of the Phoenix heat and partake in some mountain bike riding. Dave was very accommodating and made us feel like his house was our house. Our kids loved staying there with all of his animals and animal stories. We had the amazing opportunity to meet and even hold his red tail hawk. The master bedroom was very clean and plenty large for the 4 of us. We will definitely make it back to Dave's house in the future.

“The Best...Period! Why go anywhere else?!” Wow, we were blown away by our experience at David's home. As long as you are good with being in a "hosted" situation, you will have a fantastic time. We had the guest room, which I had some reservations about initially, but it worked out just fine. The house feels like home - beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and inviting. "Doing your own thing" just flows beautifully. We ate in with food we brought, but David offered us breakfast each morning. He senses when to be present and when not to be and engages with his guests with ease and sincerity. This is definitely our "go to spot" in Flagstaff from now on!

“Great family friendly location!” We stayed in this house for 3 days in early July. It was clean and well organized. We had everything we needed. Our kids loved the big TV and awesome backyard. The yard had a great playhouse. The grill was great for cooking outside and enjoying the nice weather. The kitchen had all the gadgets we needed for cooking. The house was located in an area where a park and pond were in walking distance. We had a really great time staying here.

“Great people, great cabin....just wish it had snowed!” Overall everything was great. It was a fun, cozy, whimsical, family-friendly cabin. It was clean, and the owners were very welcoming. The grounds would have been PERFECT had it snowed....would have been a dreamland with private hills for young children to sled and a fabulous big open area for them to play in the snow....of course, it didn't while we were there...so that was VERY disappointing....but of course no fault of the owners. There is a wooded area for the kids to play in with "tree platforms"...no roofs. The kids had fun with that. Also, a great outdoor camp fire area. Just wish there was a bigger place for a large family table to eat together. But, again, otherwise everything was great.

About Flagstaff

Any time of year is a great time to visit Flagstaff, AZ. This beautiful alpine town is located in Western Arizona, and is less than two hours from the Grand Canyon. It is an ideal vacation spot for outdoor enthusiasts, who will enjoy the rich and varied wilderness of the region. From cool lakes and pine forests to desert plateaus, Flagstaff is a great place for every type of eco-tour adventure. Even within the city, the Flagstaff Urban Trails System links the entire area through a network of well maintained footpaths, open to biking, walking, and jogging.

Steeped in Native American tradition and surrounded by national parks, Flagstaff is a very unique destination. For a fascinating day trip, check out the 800-year old cliff dwellings at Walnut Canyon National Monument, or visit the ruins of Native American pueblos at Wupatki National Monument. Venture a little further to visit Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell, or plan a whitewater adventure at the famous Grand Canyon.

Home to North Arizona University, the city of Flagstaff is a pleasant college town, with lots of tasty restaurants and hip breweries in the city center. Visitors often like to gather downtown at Heritage Square, where there are weekly live music and cinema events. Buffalo Park is another great place to hang out in town, offering an extensive set of hiking trails and beautiful views of the San Francisco Peaks.

There are myriad things to do in Flagstaff, but here are some of the best places to visit on your trip:

  • The Arboretum at Flagstaff: A lovely botanical garden presenting one of the most diverse collections of wildflowers in the country, extensive hiking trails, and beautiful views.
  • Flagstaff Nordic Center: This center is a green ponderosa pine forest and paradise for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
  • Arizona Snowbowl: Come here to experience more than 30 trails for downhill skiing and snowboarding on a pretty Flagstaff mountain.
  • Lowell Observatory: A famous research observatory open to the public, this observatory offers daily guided tours and telescope viewing.
  • Coconino National Forest: This diverse national forest is home to one of the world's largest ponderosa pine forests, as well as high desert landscapes.
  • Arizona Historical Society-Pioneer Museum: Come here to learn more about Arizona and Flagstaff history told through artifacts and exhibits, including a full-size steam locomotive.

For many, Flagstaff is a place close to nature. Therefore, a cozy cabin rental in the woods is ideal. For others, the perfect vacation rental is a vacation rental near the slopes. If you want to stay around Flagstaff's cultural offerings, consider a condo or apartment rental downtown or near Arizona State, which will keep you close to all the action.

Flagstaff Meadows Retreat

This house was perfect for us. It had everything we needed for our stay. Perfect distance & beautiful drives to Sedona & the Grand Canyon. We fell in LOVE with Flagstaff. The area the house is located was quiet & we enjoyed our stay. Probably one of the BEST features we loved...the king size “comfy” bed after being gone the week before & in beds that were not comfortable and/or too small (we not used to smaller “queen”beds. Thank you to the hosts for keeping in touch with us that if we needed for anything they would provide. We will definitely recommend this house to others who need a great place to say. BIG thank you to Cory & Renée. see more

Great location in east Flagstaff, close to stores, golf course & restaurants! A family of deer grazed through the shady backyard a couple of mornings while we enjoyed our breakfast! Cool off in wonderful Wyndham Resort at Flagstaff AZ

What a gold mine we found when we booked this 2 bedroom 2 bath condo at Wyndham in Flagstaff. The condo was wonderfully appointed having everything we needed for a month's stay. The amenities were for every age group. We especially loved bingo where the winner has an ice cream treat. They cater to families as well as couples. We can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. Everyone had a smile and were there to make your stay worthwhile. Any problems or concerns were handled professionally with positive customer service. We loved it so much we are looking forward to next summer when we can spend another month cooling off from the phx valley and spend it at Wyndham Resort at Flagstaff.see more

Comfortable place to stay and relax while having access to everything in Flagstaff.

Our family of 8 really enjoyed this cabin and we are a family ranging from ages 53 to 3 years of age. There was plenty of room. One of the highlights was that the place was really clean and spotless! Steve the owner was very friendly and contacted us to make sure our stay was comfortable. I like to eat in and there is everything you need to cook meals. The beds were very comfortable!!! This cabin really has everything you need. It is located in a quiet little village just a few minutes away from downtown Flagstaff and not far from the ski resort! Our whole family felt so happy with our choice in picking this cabin for our family vacation. This cabin would be great anytime of year. We would definitely come back and stay again...see more
