Description from owner

Description

The cottage has been freshly decorated and carefully furnished to create a comfortable home from home in a quiet residential area convenient for Chester city centre.

It sleeps up to 4 guests in one double and one twin bedroom.

Guests have free access to the cottage wi-fi and exclusive use of the off street parking bay immediately in front of the house.

We offer short breaks from 3 nights and longer stays up to 14 nights. It's unlikely that we would be able to accommodate a longer stay as we use the cottage regularly ourselves.

Our usual changeover days are weekdays, although sometimes we can offer weekend arrival days, particularly outside of the peak holiday season in July and August.

Please note that the TripAdvisor system calculates the prices for holidays automatically and shows the most accurate prices for 3 and 7 night stays. However, it's pricing can be wrong for other lengths of stays or stays that don't start or end on a Monday or Friday. Please send us an enquiry and we'll be happy to work out the correct price for you.

Further details indoors

The living room features a comfortable sofa, armchairs, wooden floor, open fire and digital LCD TV with DVD player.

The dining room is the heart of the cottage. Here you'll find a wide selection of books and DVDs that our guests are welcome to borrow during their holiday. On warm days the French windows can be opened onto the small private yard.

The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering (although Chester has a wealth of places to eat within easy walking distance!).

The cottage is arranged on two floors. Both bedrooms are on the first floor and the bathroom is on a landing near the top of the stairs. The master bedroom is a spacious double. The second bedroom is a comfortable twin room. The bathroom features a bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and W.C.

There is Wi-Fi available in the cottage at no extra charge.

Further details outdoors

The cottage is in an Edwardian terrace in a quiet residential area. Immediately in front of the house there is private off-road parking for two cars.
We don't give out the exact address of the cottage over the Internet for security reasons and also in order to protect the privacy of our current guests. However, we are happy to send details of the location by post. If there is anything else that you need to know to help you decide whether the cottage is a good match for your needs we are happy to answer any questions.

Getting around

The Cross, which is generally accepted as marking Chester city centre, is 0.8 miles which, at average walking speed is about 15 minutes from the house. Although it is easily walkable, we appreciate that guests may not want to walk after a long day's shopping or late at night and in that case we recommend using one of the reasonably priced and reliable local taxi firms (we provide their phone numbers in the cottage).

“Just Perfect”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2019

Bakers Cottage is just perfect ... We were so surprised at the lovely welcome pack which was more than just tea, coffee & milk ( Not going to give it away, book and you will see what I mean). The location is around 15 minutes walk into the City and the River Dee. 'Top Tip' if you want to drive in... Park up in Victoria Crescent and walk over Queens Park Bridge to The Groves where you can access the river trips. The cottage is located in a leafy tree lined street with amble parking. Many thanks Jo, you have a fantastic place to holiday!!!!!

Response from the owner We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed your Christmas in Chester and we’re delighted to hear that you’ll be back. We love being there around this time of year - it’s such a great city for getting into the festive spirit with its Christmas market, traditional pubs and the Christmas trees and music at the cathedral. We always like to leave a decorated tree in the cottage to make it feel extra Christmassy for our December guests. Jo & Peter
