“Lovely cottage, beautiful location”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2018

We stayed in early May in order to catch up with a couple of friends (all in our early 30s) who now live far away. The cottage is well kept, with a lovely inglenook fireplace, all set up and ready to use. Beds and rooms were comfy, had a little supply of fresh eggs from the farm in the kitchen - very tasty! The farm is great if you like animals, which we do, so it was a novelty being able to be around so many. Beautiful horse that roams around in the yard, and some lovely friendly dogs. So nice sitting having meals in the little bench area behind the cottage on a sunny day. The surrounding countryside is beautiful too, especially on sunny evenings, and not far from local towns and beaches on the Jurassic coast. Both owners very friendly and chatty, informative but for the most part left us to enjoy ourselves in our own space. We were a little worried we might have been a tad noisy one night after a couple of drinks, but the owners said they never heard us. As it turns out, even though the cottage is part of their house, it is well separated or soundproofed so there's not much noise transference. All in all, it was a perfect little retreat for us to catch up and relax with our friends, we would definitely recommend, and will likely stay again!
