Indredible views, amazing location

Left on Apr 25, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed as a family in a luxurious and beautifully maintained lodge literally on the edge of Lake Windermere. The children played on the beach at the side of the Lodge and my father spent all day sitting on the decking admiring the view. He never stopped talking about seeing the flying swans, ducklings and beautiful changing scenery. It is a short walk into Bowness which is a lovely place to …

Well presented, a home from home

Left on Dec 10, 2009 for a stay in February 2009

I found the property to be a real home from home, with everything you'd want at hand, including a collection of games and toys for kids as well as tapes and CD's and a stereo. The house was immaculate, I'd have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone with a family. Also in a great position for the centre of Bowness.

Fantastic break, great cottage and hosts

Left on Sep 13, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We've just returned from a week away at Beck Cottage near to Ulverston in the Lakes. It was a perfect getaway - and really felt like a home from home. The cottage was extremely well equipped and we couldn't fault anything. Millie who owns the cottage was a great host and made us feel at home. We had our 5 month old son with us - Millie went out of her way to make him feel at home, even buying a …

Lovely property home from home

Left on Jun 28, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Spent a week here in June 2014. First time in the Lake District as it's over 300 miles from us. Was home from home. Had everything we needed. Lovely comfortable bed, clean spacious property. Close to Bowness high street, shops, restaurant and the lake. Lovely views.

Bit of a steep hill back up to property so fine if reasonably fit although you need to be here as everywhere is hilly. Thought …

very nice old cottage. loads of character - thick walls etc - probably goes back 250 years or so.

Furnishings and traditional stone floors were nice. Wood burner was OK (ish) - needs some TLC.

Bedrooms and bathrooms very nice. No noise from traffic.

Can walk from front door.

Next door cottage is being refurbished - but this will not disturb a stay here at all.

Only slight negative is - lack …

5 Star property - We did'nt want to leave

Left on Dec 03, 2009 for a stay in September 2009

The property was everything we could have wished for. The amenities throughout were superb.
Outside we had the bonus of the hottub and barbeque. The barn was far enough out of Ulverston for peace and quiet, but not too far if we wanted a newspaper.

None of us were ready to leave and wished we'd had another week.
