Description

Wakedon cottage sits in private grounds at the end of a long driveway. The grounds are surrounded by open countryside overlooking the softly wooded Derwent Valley.

All the rooms are situated on the ground floor and each bedroom has en-suite facilities. The lounge-diner is light and airy with stable style door to the garden. The kitchen and breakfast bar is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge, microwave, etc. Both bedrooms have en-suite facilities. This is a very private cottage, however, should you need assistance, the owners home is just out of sight, and only 70 metres away. You will be within walking distance of the village of Crich, the National Tramway museum, the Cromford Canal, the World Heritage site of the Derwent Mills, and a very short drive from the major Houses and sights of the Peak District. The Crich area has several friendly pubs and restaurants, plus award winning butchers, and bakers. Rental includes, heating, towels and linen. When you arrive the cottage will be supplied with the basic ingredients for tea and toast. (you will also have a complimentary toilet rolls and soap).

There is one step in the entrance and there are no steps within the cottage. Wakedon cottage was created by a local master mason from the stone of an old stable, combining exterior charm with modern building standards. The cottage is kept warm in the winter and it is designed to be naturally cool in hot summers. Sorry, the cottage is not suited to children, no pets can be accommodated, and the rooms are all non-smoking.

THERE ARE NO SPECIAL FACILITIES FOR CHARGING VEHICLES, HOWEVER, BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT, IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO UTILISE A STANDARD 13amp SOCKET, (you will need to pay £2 per plugged in hour).

“Perfect solitude”

My wife and I needed to get away to somewhere quiet and peaceful, we had a lot going on in our lives and needed to unwind. Luckily we picked the right cottage. Secluded, surrounded by greenery and amazing views, quiet and relaxing it was exactly what we needed. The cottage itself is beautifully presented. Clean, tidy, comfortable beds, large bathrooms, comfortable lounge and a lovely well kept garden though it was a little chilly for us to make use of unfortunately. Keith and Daryl were the perfect hosts, there when you needed them, absent when you didn't. Always friendly, always helpful. We cannot wait to return at some point to enjoy the tranquillity again.

“Cosy Spot”

A most enjoyable 4 nights in Keith and Daryl's cosy cottage. Having separate bathrooms for the 2 bedrooms was a real bonus. Slight reception problems with the TV which I'm sure were temporary. The nearby village is excellent with good pubs, fish and chips etc.

“Great for people with disabilities.”

Travelled with my husband and 83 year old Uncle to see family. Uncle couldnt stay with relatives due to access issues. Found this level access cottage nearby. Parking right near the front door, lit driveway at night. One step over the threshold. My Uncle enjoyed the Walk in wet room with non slip floor. Lovely cosy and private cottage, warm welcome from the owners, great view from the stable door across sheep filled pastures and trees. Beds are very comfortable. We will definitely use again if we get to take our uncle back to Derbyshire again.

“Perfect peaceful getaway cottage”

A very warm welcome received by owners Keith and Daryl. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Such a tranquil spot - just the wind in the trees, hooting owls and bleating sheep to break the sound of silence. The bed is so comfortable! We loved the garden and the setting - a perfect location for scenic walks and drives. The Black Swan in Crich was great for meals and for enjoying a drink and the views in the pub garden. Thank you for a great stay - and for the doorstep delivery ;-) Ian, Barbara and 'William' the Morris Traveller!

How do damage deposits work?
