Description

Sitting one road back from Eastbourne's popular seafront George's is the ideal base for exploring all the town has to offer, just minutes from the beach, town centre, restaurants and attractions. Eastbourne is an award winning seaside town nestled at the foot of the South Downs and has been crowned the sunniest spot in the country.

Having been recently refurbished and extended the gorgeous Victorian terraced house combines some elegant original features with contemporary modern style, perfect for groups and extended families, as it sleeps up to 12 (plus baby in travel cot). 8 in permanent beds, 2 on day bed in games room and 2 on sofa bed in family bedroom.

The house was originally a bed and breakfast style guest house back in the 1960's, it is arranged over 6 split level floors. There are 4 bedrooms in total, 3 are together on one floor and one on the floor above in the loft.

One bedroom is a large family room with kingsize bed, a flop out sofa bed (sleeps 2 children) and an ensuite shower room with toilet.

There is one twin room (with 2 single beds) and 2 other double rooms (with double beds). There is a family bathroom in the loft and a family shower room down near the kitchen, a further toilet is on the floor with the majority of bedrooms and the ensuite in the family room.

There is a large fully equipped kitchen diner with all mod cons.

The front of the basement has been arranged as a games room complete with table football, board games, toys and a games console, so along with the free WiFi even the most hard to please children will be entertained.

Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board etc.

There is a large lounge with satellite tv a selection of books and dvds for those wanting to relax and unwind.

The sun trap courtyard garden is perfect for alfresco dining.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Towels and linen provided.

On street parking with no restrictions is available for free on the roads around the house.

The town centre has some lovely restaurants and a whole host of different shops from small independent boutiques to large department stores. If you are looking for some culture there is the very contemporary Towner art gallery, four theatres plus the interesting Redoubt Fortress and the Bandstand which have events running all year round. If active pursuits are more your thing you cannot beat this area for walking, cycling and watersports, again there are numerous sporting events that take place throughout the year. (details can be found in welcome pack and leaflets in the house) If there is not enough to keep you occupied in the town then the bustling bright lights of Brighton and historic Hastings are both only 30 minutes away.

Getting around

Stagecoach run a dotto train service along the entire seafront promenade during the summer months. The two trains run between Holywell and the Sovereign Harbour, stopping at the following points along the way: Wish Tower Slopes, Eastbourne Pier, Treasure Island, Fort Fun & Sovereign Centre. All day tickets available. Or you can journey across the spectacular South Downs Way and see some of Eastbourne's top attractions in an open top bus with commentary. Discover Eastbourne's history, stunning views of Beachy Head and the natural history of the South Downs. You can hop on hop off to see the sights, stops include Redoubt Fortress, Cuckmere Haven, Beachy Head and Birling Gap. Buses run every 30 minutes.

“Eastbourne is gorgeous! Such a wonderful stay we had”

My daughters and myself flew in from Dubai and we met our family in Eastbourne for a family reunion. We had a wonderful time and the accommodation we booked was really perfect for us as a very large group of 12. The attention to detail was just perfect. We had everything we needed and the kitchen area was a really cosy gathering spot for all our dinners and breakfasts. I couldn't fault the owners on anything. Just a suggestion to perhaps have more bin bags available as we were there for a longer stay than just 2 nights.

“Everything catered for in the house”

We hired the house for a weekend to attend a family wedding. There were a mixed group and the house was perfect, everything you possibly need is catered for. The house is really well decorated and the room sizes and configurations should cater for everyone.. we had nine of us and there was plenty of room. The house has been decorated to a high standard and is very clean and tidy. The nice touches like shampoo, shower gels in all the bathrooms and coffee, tea, biscuits, wine and other items were fantastic. It’s close to the beach and not too far to walk to pier. A nice, quiet location. The only minor negative for me is parking. When we visited there were no spaces outside the house so we had to drive around a bit but I think being hot and a bike ride happening at the weekend meant it looked ultra busy. It wouldn’t stop me renting again. A really lovely house that I am struggling to fault. Thanks for making our weekend enjoyable.
