Set in the southern Peak District, it is rare to find a cottage all on its own in the most beautiful environment. With this luxurious, warm, well appointed cottage, this really is the ideal place to explore all the attractions of the Peaks and north Staffordshire. Just 30 mins drive and you are in Buxton or Bakewell, with places like Chatsworth House to visit. Just 10 mins away are the pretty market towns of Leek and Ashbourne. With stunning walking on the doorstep you can't go wrong, exploring the rocky outcrops of the Roaches or the beautiful hidden secrets of the woods around Alton. With that in mind for the children and the grown up children there is the thrills of Alton Towers just 6 miles away.

DOGS - Well behaved dogs are allowed on prior arrangement, (no puppies under 12 months please. We have a field for dogs to explore off the lead and there are many footpaths directly from the cottage. There is a fee of £30 for 1 dog or £40 for 2 dogs £50 for 3. PLEASE NOTE that dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the cottage (unless locked in a crate with water) or to go in the bedrooms and only on sofas with owners throws (not ours). They must be kept downstairs and out of all of the bedrooms to help us keep our high standards of cleanliness. Please pay dog fee cash on arrival. There is an outdoor tap for muddy paws, as we don’t allow dogs in the showers or bathrooms.

We have super fast fibre Broadband WIFI, with a speed of 80mg free of charge for use at the cottage throughout your stay.

Plus EV Charger, bring your own lead. (Download and app and pay by card). You can now fully charge your car ready for the nexts days adventures, safe knowing you can get home fully charged up.

PLEASE NOTE that third party bookings ARE NOT allowed, for instance a company, charity or organisations booking on behalf of someone else. No groups under 25.

All guest receive a Hamper of milk, bottle of wine, free range eggs, a selection of nibbles and jams and a basket of logs to get you going with the fire. The cottage is equipped with washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, washing tablets, kitchen towel, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and oil for cooking. Towels, T-towels and freshly ironed bed linen is provided. All heating and electricity are included. At festive times extra attention is made with Easter eggs for children and beautiful Christmas decorations and champagne on arrival.

The Cottage comprises of three tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms with very comfortable and tasteful linen and duvets. There is one double room with 2 travel cots and a pull out bed mattress, suitable for a child which sits on the floor, one King Size room downstairs and one family room with a double bed plus a full size single bed, all rooms have an en-suite shower or bath room with luxurious Molton Brown Hand Soap and Moisturiser sets. All come with freshly laundered bed linen, towels and very comfy beds, all with toppers to make you feel relaxed and get a great nights sleep, you’ll be well rested. The King size bedroom is on the ground floor with fair access from the front door so perfect for the elderly or those not so steady on their feet. These is not enough room for a wheel chair around the bed however. A rustic farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and a wooden table to sit around. The stunning oak floored, exposed stone lounge is well equipped with two large leather sofas, 2 comfy chairs, Flat Screen TV, Hi FI, an extensive range of books, games, toys and plenty of DVDs and a lovely log burning stove. Perfect to curl up in front of and enjoy a well earned drink.

The cottage has working Alarms and CO Carbon Monoxide alarms too for your safety.

Outside you have your own garden front and back, there is a large wooden decking area overlooking the stream and a gorgeous cabin where you can relax with a book, listen to the birds or keep warm on a cooler night. Then through a gate, an acre of wooded grounds, sometimes home to our miniature Shetland ponies Breeze and Storm (or in the surrounding fields). There are streams, waterfalls, and a camp fire, all for you to explore and have to yourself. This area is fenced off so perfectly safe for children. There is a decking overlooking the river with table and chairs for 8. Plus a luxurious heated cabin with cushions and throws to relax in. There is virtually no road noise as the cottage is at the end of a dead end lane, only the sounds of nature! There is parking for 5 cars and a barn to store bikes can be made available on request. (advise well in advance for key). The front garden is the perfect place to enjoy a BBQ of some of the fantastic local fair, there is a fire pit in the field to toast marshmallows. Perfect for children and the nature lovers. We have a hot tub provider who can bring a hot tub if required for an extra fee, please enquire for cost.

We allow dogs and have a field where they can enjoy an explore off lead. There are also footpaths straight from the door for waking. We are based on the Peak District Boundary Walk.

A lovely hidden gem out of the way. The local pub is a must ( a quick drive ) and so many walks waiting to be explored. We were a family gathering of 6 people, plenty of room , all en-suite rooms were very cosy and comfortable giving the whole cottage a lovely home feeling.
