Description
You might have stayed with us at Birchwood in our big house. Our wee house is new for 2021. A contemporary two bedroom space with lots of glazing to enjoy the views. Dog friendly terraced garden looking over Gairloch harbour to Skye. Take a stroll to our lovely sandy beach to enjoy a swim or a game of golf. Or an even shorter walk to the Old Inn or down to the harbour where you can book a canoe trip,. paddle boarding, or a whale watching trip. A longer walk takes you to our local award winning museum, a number of shops and local eateries. All of the north coast 500 plus Inverewe gardens., stunning mountains, Lochs and beaches to explore on our door step. Further afield you can plan to visit Skye, Applecross, Ullapool and Inverness.

“Great stay, clean and comfortable!”
We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed for a week and had a fabulous time. We didn’t want to go home! House is perfect, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The outside area is amazing - lots of space and places to sit and enjoy the amazing views. Small shop and pub within walking distance, with further amenities a short drive away. We spent days at the local beach (behind the golf course) - the sand and water were perfect - and there are lots of other places to explore. The only slight negative things to mention is the main road in front of the house is noisy and has a lot of traffic - although the house is elevated so you don’t see as much you certainly will hear the traffic if windows are open. Also the view is slightly spoiled by some rather large trees in front of the property however the owners mentioned they were hoping to have these trimmed sometime soon (fingers crossed as the views are lovely!). You have to pass straight through the owners garden (and walk right past their windows) to get to the house from the shared drive, this didn’t bother us as the owners were away when we arrived but it would be something that would have bothered me any other time. Overall a lovely stay, would definitely recommend!

“A delightful home.”
This is a lovely, comfortable property from which you can explore the surrounding area. It has secure outdoor space with views and patio furniture on which to relax and enjoy the scenery. Great dog walking on your doorstep with forest trails and beach walks.

“Beautiful location for an excellent house.”
Beautiful location for an excellent house: private, quiet and very well equipped in Charlestown near Gairloch. Despite being attached to the owners house the Weehouse felt private, it has a fenced private garden and the house is lovely. It is modern, well decorated and with clean lines with picture windows throughout showing off the view of the interesting harbour. It's facilities are great too with an excellent kitchen, a large television with access to Netflix and Iplayer and the wi-fi is super speedy. The Weehouse has great walks accessible from it, to the beach nearby and the Flower estate to waterfall and an amazing arboretum with mature and huge Caledonian pines. The harbour offers a variety of activities: fishing trips, whale watching trips and canoeing, paddle boarding tuition. There is a public house with a beer garden and evening meals just below the house too. Of course the beauty of the highlands with its interesting small towns and harbours is just a drive away as are the wonderful mountains with visitor centres and trails for all kind of capabilities. We will certainly be back.

“Wee House Birchwood”
We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at the stunning Wee House Birchwood Gairloch -Recently renovated to a high standard the house has everything you require, all mod cons and for 2 adults and 2 teenagers it was excellent. The setting was handily placed for local amenities, cafes and a short drive to a choice of nearby beaches. Hosts Allison and John were very helpful and friendly even providing the loan of a life jacket when ours met with an accident while travelling up. We would love to return again.
