Description

Lychgate Cottage is in Henfield which is a traditional West Sussex village. It is ideal for wonderful walks in and around the South Downs but also easily accessible to the sea, beaches and watersports of Brighton and Shoreham.

It is a comfortable, quiet self-contained one bedroom cottage in a conservation area, within a short walking distance of the village centre. It offers restful accommodation, with self-catering facilities for 2 people.

The accommodation comprises a lounge/dining room, well equipped kitchen with an Edwardian style glass roof and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room.

There is plenty to do in the area, with many places to visit. . It is the perfect base for exploring Sussex with Brighton and Horsham within 10 miles and historic Arundel & Lewes nearby too. Gatwick Airport is 25 miles.

However if it's simply good food and drink you're after, there are many interesting pubs and restaurants to try in Henfield and surrounding villages.

If you love walking it is the ideal spot as you can be on a South Downs footpath within a few minutes' drive.

The perfect base from which to explore West Sussex.

There are regular local bus services and trains to Brighton and London within 5 miles.

Towels and bed linen provided. In addition, we also provide toiletries and a welcome pack consisting of local bread, butter, cheese, eggs, milk, honey, home-made preserves and sweet and savoury biscuits and a selection of teas and coffees.

Flexible start days. Minimum stay 3 nights. Arrival time from 4 pm. Departure 10 a.m.

“Excellent stay”

A comfortable and very clean cottage with everything you could need. The welcome pack is very generous and has lots of lovely homemade produce. Henfield is well situated for walking the South Downs and visiting National Trust properties and towns, like Brighton, along the coast. Good pubs for eating too. Would highly recommend.

“Perfect cottage”

Spotlessly clean, with a kitchen better equipped than our own! This cosy cottage is perfect for two, and the host has thought of absolutely everything you could need, with little treats too! Well-positioned for visiting houses and gardens in leafy Sussex, we would love to return.

Wonderful cottage for two. Very comfortable and a warm welcome from Marilyn,the owner, who has thought of everything. It is so well-equipped with all you could possibly need. The welcome pack is extremely generous with lovely home made bread, biscuits and jams and local butter,cheese and milk. Good location. Henfield has a High Street with a variety of shops and some fascinating old buildings. The South Downs are very close, and Brighton is only a short drive away if you are looking for shops and theatres and sea views. Would definitely recommend it.

“A lovely find”

Have just returned from three nights away at this lovely holiday cottage. Everything you could want is there and more! Marilyn is a great host and although the cottage is attached to hosts property, the cottage is very private. The location is great for shops and eateries (5 minute walk) and there is great countryside to explore too. We had one day of rain but a great choice of DVDs kept us occupied. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Thank you Marilyn Ashley and Julia x

“Our cosy break”

What a great stay we had here. The cottage was beautiful and had everything that we could wish for......and more. There was even homemade jam, marmalade, and biscuits were awaiting our arrival and even two Easter eggs for us....YUM. Thank you for a wonderful break, we loved it.. Tina & Ivo

How do damage deposits work?
