Description from owner

Description

Churchland Farm, set in twelve acres on the Somerset Levels, offers a tranquil getaway for singles, couples, families, coarse fishers and those seeking cultural pleasures.

The farmhouse dates back to the early 17th century and sits alongside the River Brue. The Stables bungalow sits alongside a working horse yard and stables on the review Brue in the heart of the Somerset Levels but cloes to Burnham-on-Sea and Brean.

Guests have use of the hot tub, bbq, surround decking area as well as being welcome to stroll along the river bank though closing gates is essential to ensure we do not loose the horses.

We own two dogs, two cats and 3 horses not to mention the wild rabbits in evidence at dawn and dusk.

Whether you want to bring your bikes and cycle through the levels or your hiking boots for country strolls there is plenty of space, not to mention the beaches near by and theme park which is great for all ages. For shopping you can't beat Bristol's Mall, Broadmead or Cabot Circus shopping areas, Taunton's country town shops, Bath Sap or near by Clarkes Village Outlet (up to 70% off). If it is culture and history you are looking for then there are museums in abundance, historical towns & cities of Wells, Bristol, Bath, Taunton and Dunster. The beaches of Burnham-on-Sea, Brean, Weston-super-Mare and Blue Anchor, for fossil hunting, are all within an easy drive as well as the Caves at Wookey and Cheddar. Somerset really has it all!

Getting around

You'll need a car to get around though the trains can take you further afield and the station is 10mins away. If you have bikes the cycling is lovely and flat but if you are looking for more of a challenge then Cheddar offers some very challenging cycle climbs.

Interaction with guest

It's your holiday so, we'll be lead by you as to what level f interaction you want, whether that is chatting as we see each other or totally left to your own devices. The horse yard is a working one so you can expect people to be coming past to work with their horses in the stables next to the bungalow.
