Description
YURT BRONWYN is one of three luxury yurts beautifully furnished with comfort in mind. Six guests can sleep easily in the king bed, a double bunk and two camp beds, which we provide if required. Beds are made up on arrival. There is lighting and power for small electrical devices and a heater for chilly evenings. Located in Llansilin, Shropshire near Oswestry on the North Wales - England border the location is idyllic and the views stunning. HOSTS Steve and Katrina Boydon are Brits who lived abroad for many years. They returned to Wales in August 2015 with a dream of setting up a yurt campsite. In June 2015, the first guests stayed at Barnutopia. Their feedback, "TELL people about your place! Tell folks it's clean, friendly, functional and comfortable. You shouldn't have any problems getting guests." Yu may opt to be fully self-catered or take advantage of the breakfast, packed lunch and dinner service when you need a break from cooking. Guests share a fully equipped camp kitchen with double drainer sink, hot and cold water, kettle, toaster, microwave, lean cuisine grill, cooking rings and fridge-freezer. Pots, pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery are also provided. The bathroom in the main farmhouse has a power shower, hand basin, toilet and towels. A converted stable with with sofas, table, chairs, television and DVD player is the guests lounge. The breakfast room in the farmhouse has a corner nook dining table, coat and boot rack, leaflets and information about the local area and activities.

Response from the owner Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it. The main reason we have not added more toilet and shower facilities yet is that we are a rural property on a private water supply and septic tank that cannot be over-used. This means we need to be mindful of water use -- but as we try to be as green as possible, that's no bad thing. We also recycle as much as possible, compost our animal waste and give away free of charge and have a fabulous vegetable garden. Two toilets (one in a full indoor bathroom with power shower and the other a very nice flushing portable toilet) significantly exceeds government guidelines for camp sites with 6 pitches. Most guests don't seem to be worried about showering every day. The only time we see congestion is if several people want to shower at the same time in the morning. The addition of the portable toilet solved completely the issue of folks having to wait to use the loo. The camp kitchen is on the small side but it is quite well equipped with double drainer sink, hot water, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge-freezer, boiling rings, space for food preparation and pots, pans, dishes, plates, mugs, utensils, cutlery etc. We have just added a second fridge in the long barn and, of course, we have bbq/fire pits that many guests use for cooking. Out of interest and because we strive to improve, we often ask our guests what makes us a "glamorous" camping site. Three themes arise consistently (1) real beds made up ready to sleep in (2) not having to bring loads of stuff (3) power, heating and Wi-Fi, which many guests say they could not manage without. :-) We have also researched and found our prices -- for the facilities we provide -- are cheaper than many other glamping sites. We'd love to welcome you back in a year when, hopefully, we will have secured planning permission (the decision is way overdue) and installed spiffy new bathroom facilities.
