"Cozy and Relaxing"

Left on 07/09/2015 for a stay in June 2015
Really enjoyed this property. Property is in a nice location in the north part of the lake. We were minutes from the shore, there is a bike rental shop at the base of your street and a great brunch place as well which the locals were raving about! During our trip we went fishing with Captain Chris and at the end of our trip he prepared our fish to take it right home and grill it up. It was great! The home has so many little details to make the stay comfortable......... it feels like you are at home! For cooking, my favorite part was opening the cabinets and having seasonings left behind from other guests, all of the utensils, serving and hosting supplies, etc. When we were leaving we felt really good leaving our extras for the next guests (Laundry detergent, unopened food, etc.) that we were unable to fly home with. Not sure if the property does not have wifi or it just wasn't working during our stay. It was a challenge for me as my cell phone had no service at all, so it made it hard to stay in touch. I contacted the property manager during the stay to ask about it, but unfortunately, never heard back about that. Something I would ask about if you need to be "plugged in" while at the Lake.

"Spacious house with hill for sledding!"

Left on 03/12/2016 for a stay in March 2016
We stayed at Kimberly House for a long weekend and had a very nice time. The house is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen. The best part is the backyard which has a hill for sledding. It is steep, but the snow was wet enough that we didn't go too fast. The kids -- big and small -- had a fun time! The yard is open and backs up to a trail which leads to the river -- nice for a little walk! A couple of things to be aware of: 1. the heater is a grate-style which is in the floor in the living room. It is effective at heating the upstairs, but the metal grate can get really hot, and the two-year old who came with us burnt her foot on the grate. 2. the stairs to the downstairs area are very steep, and could be hard for some people to navigate.

"Nice cozy rental close to slopes"

Left on 03/14/2016 for a stay in March 2016
This house is tucked back in a neighborhood about 10 minutes from Tahoe City and 10 Minutes from Homewood Ski resort. It is a typical floorplan, with a single great room, kitchen and dining room on one side, living room on the other. 2 bedrooms in back with single bath. It has a washer, dryer, dishwasher and very new appliances. Overall the property was in excellent condition. There is a deck with a hot tub in back, The hot tub was good but the jets were weak, a minor point. There was a nice wood fireplace with plenty of firewood. We were rained out of skiing one day and spent the afternoon just hanging around reading and relaxing, and it was very pleasant, not just a place to crash after a day on the slopes. The only caution I have is with the access: it is up some fairly steep roads, and we got a ton of snow after the rain, and we were glad we had 4wd. But a vehicle with good awd and snow tires should have no problem. Overall this was an excellent property and really was a step above a hotel or attached condo unit. It felt like a cabin back in the woods, next to a bunch of other cabins tucked back in the woods. We would without question stay here again, and I would have no trouble recommending this to friends. The management answered emails and questions promptly and an pleasantly. The refund policy is a bit strict, but not as strict as the airlines. Overall, recommended.

"Great West Lake Tahoe retreat"

Left on 09/17/2015 for a stay in September 2015
Clean, comfortable 2 b/r cabin with nice, functioning kitchen. It was a great place to wind down and relax after hiking and swimming in and around this gorgeous lake. Julie Weed, agency owner was so nice! The paperwork was prepared and she was very open and informative. The cabin was just as described so no surprises. A bit closer to the road than I had thought but plenty of barrier between cabin and road. Sitting areas front and back. Very pleased ! West Lake Properties is an honest, friendly, local business! Highly recommended!!
