“Wonderful stay in a gorgeous location!”

Reviewed 7 May 2023

Had a fabulous stay here as a base for exploring the Peak District. So homely with everything we needed to cook dinner most nights, and it was so lovely to relax in front of the woodburner in the evenings on the comfy sofa. Highly recommend the hike from the doorstep to Biggin Dale and Wolfcote Dale, absolutely stunning. In a good location for a relatively short drive to all the other spots we wanted to check out. We walked up the bridleway by the house most evenings to catch the sunset and the gorgeous view,. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

“Lovely place, lovely people”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2023

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and found it to be very nice. It was quite, we had everything we needed and even a lovely wood burner for the evenings! We had a short drive to well known Peak District towns like Bakewell and Matlock. The owners were very helpful and on the one occasion we needed to get in touch they done all they could to get things resolved quickly. We would stay again.

“A comfortable and relaxing home”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2022

The barn was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was particularly comfortable as was the sofa. We did the beautiful walk up the lanes directly next to the barn on our first day, going down to Wolfscote Dale and back via Biggin Dale. Everything else we chose to do, Mam Tor, Chatsworth, Dovedale was within 20/30 mins so an ideal base. We intended to walk more of the lanes into Hartington on the Friday but at 30° decided it was far too hot to walk far. It was always lovely to return to the barn at the end of a busy day to relax. The owners checked after a couple of days to make sure all was well, which was a lovely touch, but left us to enjoy our stay. We had a wonderful break exploring the beautiful Peak District.

“Characterful and Cosy”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2021

The cottage is warm, comfy and cosy (but with plenty of space) in a perfect location for walking and visiting pretty towns and villages. The little kitchen was easy to work in and very well equipped for home-cooking from scratch (which I weirdly love to do on holiday!). Excellent value for money.

“Walk back to Ramble.”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2021

Just back from our week in the Ramblers Barn. The barn is in a fantastic location. You could choose a different walk every day and have no need to use your car. The barn has everything you need for your stay. We walked every day and on some days after our walks, we cooked an evening meal followed by relaxing in front of the TV. We were blessed with some lovely weather, so we sat outside with a little BBQ and a bottle of red. The owners are great, really friendly, are there to help with anything, but let you just get on with your holiday. Pub up the road in Biggin, Waterloo, does great pub grub, bear and are really friendly. Good tip, catch a bus from Biggin to Tissington, navigate to Thorpe Cloud, a lovely hill to get your lungs working. Come down to the Dovedale stepping stones. Then follow the river back to Biggin dale to come back home. Fantastic Barn, owners and area.
