Description

Situated on the edge of the village of Draycott and adjacent to the owners own home The Byre is a detached, single storey building dating back to c1780. The property has been fully refurbished and fitted out to a very high standard. It provides spacious and contemporary living accommodation whilst still retaining its original character.

With a large double bedroom (including king size bed) the property is ideal for couples although a cot or fold-up bed can be provided, if required. The accommodation also includes a modern bathroom with “over bath shower”, fully fitted kitchen/dining area with built in gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dish washer. The kitchen/dining room opens on to the sitting room with wood burner, flat screen television, DVD player and Hi Fi system. French doors lead onto the patio with views across the garden and beyond.

Draycott is ideally situated for walking, cycling and visiting the many local attractions. There is a pub and a Post Office/General Store in the village and another pub half a mile away in Rodney Stoke. With gas fired central heating throughout The Byre is warm and cosy and ideal for a holiday at any time of the year.

The Byre, what can I say about it? Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. Super clean with everything you could possibly wish for. Charlotte & Nigel are the perfect hosts. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and very welcome. We will return.

“Lovely little cottage”

Lovely little cottage in a great location for visiting Cheddar and other parts of Somerset. Gorgeously designed conversion with a lovely little welcome pack provided - tea, coffee, biscuits, cake. The garden is amazing though unfortunately the weather wasn't really good enough during our few days there to make the most of it. The driveway is very steep to park on and getting out can be a little awkward. The Wifi connection is very weak as well as there is no booster or router (that we could find) in the cottage, especially when it is stormy! All in all a wonderful cottage with lovely hosts but needs better Wifi to get 5 stars!

“Beautiful inside and out”

Sitting on the patio looking out at Nigel and Charlotte's beautiful garden, we could have been anywhere in the world. This property is beautiful inside and out and situated in such a convenient spot for visiting the spectacular countryside and beaches. Would highly recommend.

“Perfect location for touring and walking”

We had a delightful stay at the Byre. The welcome pack was excellent and the place has everything a couple needed. Nigel had even gone to the trouble of supplying a range of walks that all started from our front door. The Byre is conveniently located near Cheddar, you can even walk there in an hour or so using back roads. We stayed 6 nights and would book it again.
