Moonfleet is an ancient coastguard cottage in Dorset available for peaceful holiday lets. Whilst feeling remote, Moonfleet offers a convenient location for exploring the Jurassic coast.
Set in the countryside near to the coast, Moonfleet has panoramic sea views over 100 miles of coastline looking out to the Fleet Lagoon and Chesil Beach.
*Please Note, in high seasons, all bookings are for full weeks only (Saturday to Saturday) *
An idyllic stroll from the cottage on a footpath through fields brings you to the Fleet Nature Reserve, which looks out over Chesil beach. A haven for walkers, nature lovers and bird watchers, the coast path follows the Lagoon towards Weymouth to the east and Abbotsbury to the west. At 10 minutes drive from the Portland sailing academy, Moonfleet is a secluded haven yet convenient as a base for Sailing as well as visiting the many attractions of the Jurassic Coast. The Beach/Coast Path is 200 yards, and Weymouth safe and sandy beach is 3 miles.
Moonfleet cottage is spacious, warm and comfortable. There are 3 bedrooms: the master bedroom has a 6-foot double which can be split into twin beds, and an ensuite shower room. There is also a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Downstairs is the lounge, dining room, kitchen, sunroom, and family bathroom. There are 2 wcs (one upstairs, one downstairs), a childrens reduced height playroom, a utility room and cloak/boot room. The large south facing front garden has lawn areas, patio, terraces, child's play equipment, and sea views! Moonfleet is ideal for extended family groups as there are 3 reception areas.
Children are most welcome, but dogs not permitted, and no smoking.
Moonfleet is 3 star visit-britain graded.

“Cosy cottage with stunning views”

Location was beautiful however the house could with some upgrades. Beautiful walks but not a great deal for the children to do unless your willing to drive everywhere

“The perfect base for exploring Dorset”
Moonfleet is a lovely cottage set about halfway along the Fleet lagoon. More importantly it's located perfectly; be it for Corfe, Lulworth or Bovington to the East, or Lyme Regis, Charmouth & Seatown to the West. Not forgetting Weymouth, Portland & Chesil Beach right on your doorstep. Very welcoming cottage, complete with great recommendations from previous guests about good trips, restaurants etc.

“Too short a stay”
We booked Moonfleet for a long weekend whilst family members took part in a Triathlon event in nearby Weymouth. Although this was a brief and very busy stay we all had a wonderful time and can't wait to return to enjoy Moonfleet and the area, in a more relaxed manner. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equiped and is in a wonderful location just a short walk from Fleet lagoon . It is the perfect place for either an active or a very restful holiday.

“Come and look at the views”
A very comfortable home from home. The views and walks around the area were great. We were 6 adults, a toddler and 5 month old twins with room for us all. Our grandson particularly loved the playroom.! Many thanks

“Wonderful holiday, ideal place stay in the area”
We had a lovely week away in this well situated property. The house was very clean and tidy with all amenities to hand. The house is in a lovely area with plenty of places to visit without having to travel far. My grandson particularly enjoyed the upstairs play room. The garden was lovely and we was able to enjoy a bbq. We would recommend the Elm tree pub which is 10minutes away for lovely meals out. We had a lovely week with lovely weather we would most defiantly recommend it to any family and would stay again.
