“Poor property management”

Be careful of the bogus claims of property damage by the management company. A 10.00 set of bedroom mini blinds will cost you 212.00 dollars. Also living room blinds were allegedly damaged with no photo proof given when requested. Property was average,rental company is terrible to deal with.

“Loved the swiming pool very enjoyable”

The service was very pleasant but would liked to have gotten into the house earlier even for a slight cost. House was nice but kitchen needed more items like a working can opener, larger bowls, etc.. Interned went out and was needed for work which was a problem. Need more seating in family area and at dinning table. Location was fine except the front view of the water plant but most of the time spent at the pool. We really enjoyed the pool and the distance to the beach was also fine even tho we paid for parking which we had No problem founding spots. Did not use state park passes. Have never been asked to vacumn, clean kitchen, etc..

“Our daughter's wedding”

The Wilgus customer service was less friendly than the service we receive from our usual realtor in the Bethany area but it was adequate. We absolutely loved the home. We rented the home for our family to stay for our daughter's wedding on the state beaches. It is not a home in which you can walk to the beach but it is a very short distance to many clean, uncrowded beaches in the Bethany , Dewey area. We love this area because it is between Ocean City, Maryland and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware where nightlife is plenty, but during the day the Bethany area is quiet and much less crowded. The house was very clean and decorated for comfort and the beach feel. The view out the back and side window of the wildlands was beautiful but the front is a view of the water company. We enjoyed our long weekend and the house had an elevator which came in handy for all of the things we needed to carry for the wedding and reception.

“Great house, but on the wrong side of the road”

I start with the negative and end with the positive to leave something like a happy ending. Three problems with the location, with the company managing the property, and with Bethany Beach in general: 1. The renters of the house, which is located on the West side of Route 1, do not have easy access to the beach, because of all the gated communities on the ocean side of the road. We had to get in the cars and drive 10 min to a public beach. 2. The nearest community tennis court is 30 min drive away?! 3. This is the first time in 10 years I see a managing company requiring the renters to pay one month in advance the whole amount for the vacation stay. The Outer Banks, Chincoteague, Ocean City, Rehoboth - do not have gated communities build in such protective-beach-access way as Bethany, and all have tennis courts within 5-10 min away. No one there has asked for more than a deposit in advance. One suggestion: How about Wilgus associates provides passes to vacationers in such houses, that are located on the other side of the road, allowing them access to the beach just across the street, passing through a respective gated community, and access to tennis courts, where Wilgus also has properties (even for a small fee). The positive: Outstanding, brand new house, spacious, all amenities you can, and cannot imagine (even has an elevator).

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to write a review. 1. Each community has the right to gate their development and apply restrictions for no public use - )Sea Del Estates) the community directly across from The Sanctuary has done just that. They do not want guests not staying there using the beach. At this time they are not interested in allowing others access to their beaches - this is not something that Wilgus Associates has any controil over. On another note, the beach is just up the street (State Park - which we supply passes for - FREE, or you may come into town - each is just a mile or so away. 2. The nearest tennis court is Bethany Club Tennis located on Cedar Neck Road - again, just a couple of miles away and thirdly it is our policy to have guests pay in full 30 days prior to check-in. This makes our accounting easy, your check-in seamless and allows time to address any issues that may arise before your arrival. (on a side note, I recently stayed in Nags Head and we too had to pay in full prior to arrival.)
