“Great house for 2 families with kids”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2014

House has a very unique layout and look. Very easy to get to and about a 20 minute walk to the beach. The house was very clean and open-feeling due to the high ceiling and loft in the main area. Overall: Pros: -Living room was very large with lots of seating -3 bathrooms - 2 on the main floor and one on the upper. Tub on main floor and shower-only on top floor. -House was well stocked with cleaning supplies and a handful of beach items - umbrella, chairs, and roller for items. -The kitchen was incredible well stocked - tons of glasses, plates, utensils, and things like a blender, coffee maker, etc. -Fans in the main rooms, loft, and patio really help keep it cool -Loft and patio are great hang-out spots after a day at the beach -3 bedrooms on the main floor - 2 next to the kitchen with bunk beds in each (one of which has a slightly larger lower bed) and a bedroom adjacent to the living room with queen bed and bathroom attached. -Outside shower - used frequently! -Yard is HUGE and has a picnic table. The table is a bit beat up but it gets the job done. -Came with cable - a lifesaver for keeping the kids attention in those early morning hours! Cons: -It is not sound proof at all. You can easily hear each other through the rooms. So you don't need to worry about baby monitors. A sound machine can help drone out noises though. -The kitchen is very, very small. And it's so stocked you can't put any food/dry goods away except what can fit in the fridge. Fridge is standard size thankfully. -Has a fireplace but doesn't appear to be functional (otherwise it looks a bit old and I'd rather not take the chance of something going wrong) -Grill was in pretty bad shape. We avoided using it. -Beds are mighty stiff. My wife didn't mind that but I like to sink a little bit. -It is not childproof and cannot be made childproof - the kitchen hallway has bricks which make tension gates impossible and the stairway to the loft is too narrow for a gate to fit. -Internet constantly went out. It appears to be because it's trying to do n/g speeds on the wifi but trying to fix that didn't solve the issue completely. -The HDTV is in the loft bedroom and an old tube TV is in the living room. A switcheroo would fix that easily. All the cons are very minor issues. I would stay again here, easily. The rental company was a mixed bag - I found it very difficult to get responses after they received my payments. For a whole month they didn't reply to me.

“Cozy, comfortable stay in a community designed with families in”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

This home is an excellent value considering the amenities. It's location in Bethany West is ideal for accessing the beach by trolley or car. The home has a roomy upstairs loft with a King-sized bed. Besides having central a/C, ceiling fans are in operation on all floors so even in the extreme heat, the house was cool on both floors. We loved the roomy, screened in front porch where we could leave toys, shoes, etc. We have vacationed in Bethany Beach for 15 years and this is the first time we have not stayed on the beach side of the highway. We were pleased with the Bethany West community, which offers lots of activities for families (two pools and two sets of tennis courts and more). This home works well for families; two of the bedrooms have bunk beds. Also, plenty of bathrooms! It's probably not good for more than two couples, however, due to bunk beds. And, we have shared with the real estate agent that the queen-sized bed downstairs was not comfortable, something the owner needs to address. There is a big backyard, which would be great for a picnic but there are no suitable tables, something else the owner may want to consider adding. Overall, we were very pleased to stay in this affordable, comfortable, conveniently-located home. We had a great vacation. Thank you!

“Great house near the beach”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2013

Nothing fancy, but clean, cozy and comfortable - we had 8 adults and two kids and all fit comfortably. About a 20-30 minute walk to the beach/boardwalk, or easy access to shuttles or a five minute drive. Also close enough to restaurants and entertainment.

“Great family bacation home”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

Nice sized home, we had 8 kids and 4 adults and had plenty of room. On downfall was not enough pantry space or cupboard space for our food. Awesome size yard with yard games available to play. Kids kicked soccer ball around in yard a lot. Also beach is more like 2 miles away.

“Room for all!”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2012

We really enjoyed our visit in July to 612 Paget Ct. We had 4 adults and 4 to 5 kids for two weeks! Only two frustrations...kitchen cabinets so well stocked there was no room for the food we brought and the rug on the upper deck was grossly squishy after each storm we had. Besides that...nice place!!

“Not as pictured”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2012

First off, it said that there was room for 4 cars, we had to park the 4th in the grass so that it wasn't on the road. The screened porch and backyard were very nice. The kitchen was small but well stocked. The loft and upstairs bedroom was nice and roomy but the strps were very narrow and slippery to walk up and down. The master bedroom on the 1st floor was nice but the picture said it was a queen but seemed smaller than that. The bedroom with the double/twin bunk was so small. The top bunk might have been twin size but the mattress was not. It looked more like a toddler mattress, there was at least 4inches all around that wasn't covered by the mattress. Fortunately there was a 6yr old sleeping there. The bedroom with twin bunk was the worst. It also had mattresses that didn;t fit. We had an adult sleeping in there and he had to take the top mattress and put it on top of the one on the bottom so that at least it covered the frame. Wasn't twin-sized either. He hit the wall all night because it was so small.
