“A very suitable place to come home to after a long day of sightseeing”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2015

The neighborhood is about 30 minutes (walking) from Il Duomo and other major sights, which was just fine for us (friends in our late 20s/early 30s). The bedroom is upstairs and the main one has air-conditioning. The second bedroom had a fan, which worked the first two nights. However, it got near 100 degrees the last three days, so the fan wasn't quite adequate for our friend staying in that room. That was our only real qualm about the place. It was quiet at night. The owners are very kind and hospitable. They gave us great recommendations of things to do and how to get to the sights. There's an amazing gelato place (carapina) about 5 minutes from the flat, and there's a wine shop around the corner that gave us cheap and delicious wine to relax to. If you want to stay in a place that is away from the tourist centers, this is definitely the place.

“Spacious & fully equipped Apartment with wonderful hosts !”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2015

My husband & myself stayed in Florence for 4 nights in this lovely apartment which was a duplex.Extremely spacious with a fully equipped kitchen,a lovely dining area near the kitchen,a living room with a tv (though we never even switched it on considering there is so much to do in florence !).There are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor of the apartment & a bathroom with an attached shower (there is another bathroom on the 1st floor which does not have a shower but the washing machine/dryer is kept there which was very useful during our trip, detergent is not provided & one would need to carry their own or buy it). There were plenty of fresh towels provided, sufficient for the entire stay. One of the bedrooms has a small terrace area where one can dry clothes or keep the door open for some ventilation as it can get stuffy in the room if the door is kept shut, the rooms are not too big. The apartment is not in the city centre but it can be reached on foot in 20-25 mins, however there is a bus stop very close to the apartment (the bus to the city centre / train station is just outside their apartment building & the bus that drops you to the apartment stops in the lane parallel to the lane that the apt building is located in). The building also has a lift which is very useful as the apartment is on the 3rd floor The apartment also has wifi which was very good on the 1st floor but the connection was very weak if one wanted to use it up in the bedrooms, however that wasn't a big problem. Bitte was very helpful in all her email interactions that I had with her & unfortunately did not have a chance to meet her but was well taken care of by her lovely parents.

“A beautiful, clean, well equipped apartment - perfect!”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2014

We stayed in this lovely apartment for four days and were very happy we chose this one! The apartment is very spacious, light and airy, clean and very well equipped for any length of stay. The apartment is on the second floor but is adequately served by a small internal lift if required. We were met at the apartment by the owner's parents who were absolutely lovely. They had provided maps and information of local places of interest and were a great source of advice for local restaurants, shops, public transport, etc. I am very pleased we chose an apartment slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the City centre. The walk from the apartment to the centre is approx 10-15 minutes, but if you walk along the Via Gioberti it could take slightly longer ...... there are so many shops to look at - happy days! A perfect stay!

“Attractive Apartment close to City”

Reviewed 14 May 2014

We stayed 5 nights in this lovely apartment only 20 minutes walk from Florence City. This newly painted and decorated apartment had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. The two large bedrooms are upstairs have massive storage areas & very comfortable beds & linen. Bathroom is very modern and like the rest of the apartment spotlessly clean soft towels & toiletries are also supplied. Downstairs was a wonderfully appointed separate kitchen/dining area with large refrigerator and dishwasher. The lounge was also comfortable & simply but beautifully decorated. The laundry/toilet room had a really good washing machine and although there was no dryer a special "outdoor" area upstairs was really good for drying our clothes. Wifi worked really well although we had a small hiccup with connection but it was fixed before we knew it! Our hosts parents could not do enough to help us initially with showing us around the apartment and even carrying our bags up the internal stairs but also helping us downstairs when we left ...even rang us a taxi. They also supplied local maps with information already marked for us. The neighbourhood had quite a few bakeries and good cafes serving wonderful espresso & pastries for breakfast if you got tired of cooking in the lovely kitchen. We loved the apartment and Florence so much we have booked a further 4 nights at the end of May....can't wait to go back!!! By the way even though it is two easy flights of stairs up there is a great elevator to use when tired and even better for those heavy suitcases.

“really nice!!!”

We spent a few days at Bitte's flat and we really had a great time! Although she wasn't there she sent me many useful and amazing informations and suggestions by mail, her parents received us at the apartment : they wonderfully took care of us! The flat is a real original one, with nice furniture, really well equipped and clean, located in a quiet place, and without any mosquitos (!!!) thanks to the mosquitos net. I really look forward to come back!!!

Response from the owner Dear Margaux, After this comment you have indeed come back to my apartment and I finally had the opportunity to meet you and your wonderful family. Thank you for being such great guests and for this delicate and warm comment. You will always be welcome in my place. I look forward to hosting you again shortly and I'm happy you chose MY home as YOUR home in Florence! Much Love, Bitte

“Excellent accommodation in Firenze”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2013

Bitte's flat is immaculate and homely, and it was a great base for us as we explored Firenze for a week. It's obvious that a lot of care has gone into the decor and layout of the flat, with its very tasteful furnishings and modern appliances. It's a joy to cook, eat and relax in, and we would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to spend time in Florence. Bitte kept in regular contact with us before our stay, and we'd give a thumbs up to her copious recommendations for places to eat and explore in the area; we discovered some real gems that we would never have found without Brigitt's insight. Bitte herself no longer lives locally, but her parents look after the flat and its occupants marvellously. They met us promptly, and stopped to give us their advice and directions around the area. They were only a phone call away if we needed anything-or if anything went wrong-which thankfully wasn't required. The flat is very handy for the centre of town, at only 20 minutes walk to the hub but a lot quicker by bus. The area between the flat and town is great, with some lively bars and loads of fascinating shops, including a sizeable market with local produce and a brilliant buzz.

“A most wonderful Florentine vacation base.”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2013

Our hosts were very welcoming, informative, and warm. They shared their knowledge of the city and how to get around, things to see, and where best to eat. The owner, Brigett, was easy to work with, and very informative both prior to our visit and during. ... The flat is warm, clean, comfortable, and all the amenities worked as advertised. The lift to the 3rd floor (us) was a real plus for our luggage. ... The location is a short distance fron the old part of the city. A pleasant walk through shopping streets or a short bus ride got us to the central part of old town. We felt safe and secure our entire time in this neighborhood. ... The absolute best part of our stay in Florence was the art, architecture, and history but what made all that so wonderful was having a terrific flat to come back to each evening to rest, freshen-up, and go again the next day.

Response from the owner Dear Richard & Carol, thank you for such a thorough comment and description of my your experience and for being such enthusiastic and respectful guests! I'm are very glad you enjoyed your stay and that you followed our tips to live and explore Florence at its best. You'll be always welcome to come back whenever you wish!
