As you arrive at Curlew Cottage you will feel the pace of life is calmer and you are truly in the Wiltshire Countryside. This luxury self- catering cottage is set in open countryside at the foot of Hackpen Hill, with views of the Marlborough Downs with miles of walking/cycling/riding on its doorstep, away from busy roads and traffic yet close to road connections for Bath, Bristol and London. The cottage is a newly converted barn positioned with arable fields all around it. You really get a sense of the countryside at Curlew Cottage!Curlew Cottage is a luxury stunning light & spacious 3 bedroomed semi-detached barn conversion recently completed to a very high standard offering flexible accommodation over 2 floors. We aim to make you welcome as soon as you arrive. Finished to a very high standard with oak finishing's, natural stone floors with underfloor heating, and is wonderfully light and spacious. Parking outside the door so no need to trek miles with your bags!Accommodation comprises entrance hall, leading through double doors into large light open plan kitchen / dining / living area. Large fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge /freezer, double oven / hob and workspaces. The kitchen extends into a dining area with large table and chairs, and then into a seated area with comfy sofa / chairs and TV and DVD player. This living area has patio doors leading outside to an outside patio and table and chairs with views out across open fields and the Marlborough Downs. Off the kitchen the utility room is equipped with Washing Machine and Dryer and additional cupboard and workspace, and accesses the downstairs W.C. Curlew Cottage also has a back door into the utility room store those muddy wellies and coats! The living area leads into a large downstairs bespoke furnished bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bath /shower room / w.c. This bedroom has a fully glazed/oak wall with large doors leading onto steps out and views across to the village of Broad Hinton 2 miles away. We are perfectly positioned, below the Broad Hinton, Marlborough White Horse, in an ideal location to explore everything that the beautiful county of Wiltshire has to offer, including Avebury's World Heritage Site (which is rated higher than the Pyramids - according to The Times!) , Marlborough, Stonehenge and the other White Horses of Wiltshire. Barbury Horse Trials and Shooting School are less than 3 miles away, and we offer a good location for Newbury and Cheltenham Racecourses and Badminton Horse Trials. The popular cities of Salisbury and its Cathedral (1 hr) and Bath and its Roman heritage (45 mins), Winchester (1 hr) are also not far away. For the children, the Cotswold Wildlife Park (30 mins) or Roves Farm (20 mins) or Longleat Safari Park (55 mins) are all excellent days out. Please Note. It is not let as 8 adults. “Delightful Barn Conversion”
Curlew Cottage was delightful and perfect for our week away. The location was exactly what we were looking for, surrounded by open countryside, yet within walking distance of local pubs and shops. The property is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The Underfloor heating was very efficient, keeping the temperature just right and having a decent sized TV and WI-FI with good bandwidth was a real bonus for evenings in. The views from the cottage were impressive, with big skies in all directions. We love walking and with the ridgeway only a field away we were able to walk to several local villages and historic sites straight from the door. We were fortunate with the late summer weather and had a really great week. We are looking forward to our next visit.

“Wonderful Cottage”
Wonderful cottage.Great location. Very close to the Ridgeway Path, Avebury Circle on the Wiltshire Downs. Cottage is well presented and ideal for families or couples.

“Wonderful stay in a fantastic barn”
Wonderfully renovated barn, lots of space and room for 3 adults and 1 child. Great kitchen with everything you need. Lots of board games for the kids. Great location, close to pubs, shops and Avebury. Would definately stay again if in the area. The hosts are very easy to deal with and helpful. Only comment would be, took us a while to work out the heating as was on about 30 degrees when we arrived.

“Best way to see 2017 in.”
3 x couple and 1 x dog looking for the perfect location to celebrate and see in 2017! Well we found it in Curlew Cottage. Fabulous property, great location which was ideal for our group and the facilities were amazing. You won't and can't go wrong staying here. Thank you and we really hope to be back.

“Lovely barn conversion”
Clean and spacious barn conversion. Peaceful with great views over open countryside but with plenty of things to see and do close by. Plenty of room for 3 generations to sit around the dining table. The underfloor heating meant the open plan living area was wonderfully warm even when cold outside. Well equipped kitchen and utility area. It would have been nice to have a shower in the family bathroom in addition to the one in the en-suite. The owner was very helpful and quickly replied to any queries prior to our booking.

“Very nice barn in peaceful location. Very central.”
Very nice barn conversion. Enough space for a large family (4 teenagers). Very comfortable beds. Peaceful location but very central too...we spent one week and visited Bath, Oxford, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Highclere Castle and even the Harry Potter Studios near London. Très belle location. La maison est grande, spacieuse et lumineuse, la literie très confortable. Magnifique vue sur les champs depuis le séjour et les chambres. L'endroit est très central et idéal pour visiter Bath, Oxford, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey)...tous situés à 45-60 minutes environ. Nous avons même piqué une pointe jusqu'aux studios Harry Potter près de Londres.

“Great house in super relaxing location.”
Access was very easy. The converted barn was very open and made for a friendly atmosphere. The standard of cleanliness was high and the cottage was very well equipped with washing machine, dryer etc and warm dry spaces, useful for days of bad weather. The underfloor heating and double glazing was so effective that in terrible weather it was enjoyable to sit inside and watch outside. Deer visited the garden. A great place.

“Great location, beautiful cottage”
Our Easter weekend at Curlew Cottage was exactly what we were hoping for. The location is stunning and being able to set off for walks without needing the car made it so relaxing. We loved the stunning views and the spacious living area was perfect for our group of 3 family couples. It felt like a real country weekend away. We loved the open plan design and the upstairs walkway to the bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and we felt very much at home. The underfloor heating made the cottage very cosy and welcoming (especially as the weather was extreme at times). We took some games but didn't need to as the cottage has a good selection. We loved it and would happily do it again.
