“Wonderfully comfortable Tuscan cottage with spectacular views”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

We've just returned from a week at La Ginestra and can't possibly say enough nice things about it. The house is well situated, around halfway between Rome and Florence, and just a short drive from the train station at Chuisi. Nearest towns are Celle Sul Rigo and San Casciano dai Bagni, both wonderful small towns with local restaurants, butchers, etc - those looking for an authentic Italian experience don't need to look any further than this! The house itself is set just outside the town of Celle Sul Rigo, so walking distance from restaurants and shops. It is very well situated, on a plot filled with olive trees and overlooking a valley with views we admired for hours (and days) on end. To be able to sit outside at sunset, as the valley gradually turns purple and blue in the fading light, with a glass of wine in hand is an experience we won't soon forget. The house itself is very well equipped and perfect for two. You can tell it has been set up as a home rather than as a holiday rental. It had everything we needed, from proper wine glasses, a range of pots and pans, to a fan for the summer heat. The bathroom was also well equipped, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. There was even a washer and separate dryer, perfect for a week long stay. The fireplace was lovely at night, making it a treat to come inside at dark and sit beside the fire. From La Ginestra, day trips to Montepulciano and the Val d'Orcia were only a short drive, and very achievable. We would not hesitate to recommend La Ginestra to anyone, and hope to return ourselves very soon.

Response from the owner I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at La Ginestra. You have discovered the many things to do and see very near La Ginestra. I look forward to your return someday!

“Views amazing, house beautiful and Village so friendly”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

We stayed for one week at La Ginestra and could have been there for so much longer. We loved it, the view across the valley is a wow and the house is so tastefully decorated and of high quality. The village is just two minutes walk away and has a fab pub and lovely restaurants. I am a Food Technologist so food is very important to me - the butchers in the old town was fab, sausages and ham just so delicious. We really did feel accepted everyone was just so friendly to us. We toured most days and saw some beautiful Tuscan towns. We loved everything about it. Bed so comfy and beautiful, bedding crisp and white.

Response from the owner We love La Ginestra and I'm glad you enjoyed it also. Your comment about the bed is quite correct. My wife and I searched very thoroughly for all of the items that "make up" La Ginestra. We hope that you return some day.

“Postcard perfect setting and views!”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2013

My husband and I rented La Ginestra for one week in October. It was a perfect choice for us--size of the house, its location, amenities, and the incredible vistas from every window and door. We felt that in choosing La Ginestra we had a real Tuscan experience, as the town is very "untouristy" and genuine. We loved shopping in the local stores, sipping coffees and wine at the local bar/terrace, and feeling like locals for one week. Richard has done an outstanding job of furnishing the lovely house, providing lots of local information, and responding to us in a timely manner. Maruizio, the caretaker, was a joy to meet and a wonderful source of more information. We highly recommend La Ginestra!

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay at La Ginestra! I'm happy that you liked it and our area of Tuscany. We hope that you return someday.

“Fantastic place to be in love!”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2013

Upon arrival, the property manager was more than welcoming, full of good tips, several introductions to local vendors and just fun to be with. The property was beautifully kept, with fantastic views, comfortable living arrangement and fully equiped. Everything you need for cooking in the gormet kitchen to info. on finding a great restaurant near by. Perfect location for exploring. Easy access to a1. The whole house was a perfect honeymoon get away or retreat to enjoy the joys of having a home away from home. Loved the sunsets in the outdoor dining room.

Response from the owner I'm glad you chose La Ginestra for your honeymoon retreat! As you say..it is the perfect place for a peaceful, tranquil stay in a beautiful area of Tuscany. I appreciate your kind words!

“A little slice of heaven”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed at La Ginestra for a week in September. The house is lovely and modern with a great outdoor terrace that has panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside. It was well located for exploring the area by car. The property manager, Maurizio, showed us great hospitality and the owners were very helpful and friendly and gave us a lot of information about the area, restaurants etc. Will be back!

Response from the owner Thank you for appreciating the effort we have put in to insure a peaceful stay for our guests. Please return someday and enjoy La Ginestra again. We look forward to serving you.

“Casa la Ginestra Is a Real Gem!”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2013

Casa la Ginestra is a real gem! This is by far the most comfortable vacation rental I have had the pleasure of staying at. The location is ideal; close to many charming villages but remote enough to offer peace and privacy. The house its self is superbly remodeled, offering simple yet elegant furnishings, a gorgeous and functional kitchen, and all the modern amenities that a discerning traveler could ask for. It's obvious that Casa la Ginestra's owner takes pride in this home, its location, and the warm and welcoming local populace. If you're looking for a home to rent in the Tuscany region then look no further. You won't be disappointed by Casa la Ginestra!

Response from the owner Thank you for your comments and thank you for taking the time to tell us so. There are so very many things to do and see in our area and it sounds like you did a good job of it! We will see you when you return!

“Vacances parfaites”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2013

Response from the owner Thank you for your comments and we look forward to your return someday. There are many more things to do and see in our area and I hope that others will discover our property and area. It is not to be missed!

“Rainbows and romance”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2013

We arrived at La Ginestra to a beautiful sunset followed by a full moon. The property overlooks the Tuscan hill country and the on site olive grove. The house is very well appointed and private, perfect for a romantic getaway or for a honeymoon. It is a short walk into the small town for groceries or a nice lunch. We strongly recommend going to Daniella's in San Casciano Dei Bagni as well as Fighine, a small renovated Castle with a Michelin-starred restaurant (chef antontio previously at La Pergola in Rome). Amazing food at both locations! Also not to be missed is FontaVerde, the Tuscan resort and spa. La Ginestra was an amazing home, minutes away from so many beautiful, ancient towns...we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and we will return!

Response from the owner I'm glad you discovered the places we recommend that one see. It is a beautiful area of Tuscany and is very close to all of the sights..as you discovered. Thank you for your kind comments.
