Heritage and culture abound with castles, ancient ports, paddle steamers and the West Somerset Steam Railway. For families there are plenty of attractions and activities around the area. Spend a day exploring some of the local beauty spots, visit the nearby golden beaches of North Devon, or take and Exmoor Safari. For those who prefer culinary delights try the many restaurants and country pubs offering the best local Exmoor produce. This magical landscape, a home to varied wildlife, is so popular with walkers, horse riders, cyclists or those looking for a relaxing break in tranquil surroundings.

“Disappointed”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2020

Could be a lovely house, sadly the house was dirty, cobwebs very dirty green windows with weeds growing around them outside, the twin bedroom windows has leaked previously and stained the wall and smelt damp, the shower was disgusting with mildew and it leaked through the ceiling so bad the plaster fell down into the hall, and obviously has been an issue before. Dog hair on the floors and mats along with bits of crumbs etc, we were advised we couldn’t enter the property until 5pm due to a deep clean because of covid I ask myself if it was cleaned at all, very disappointed in the whole place.

“Gorgeous cottage, gorgeous location”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2013

This was our second visit to this beautiful cottage and were delighted to see that it's still in lovely condition. It's spacious, well appointed and warm. Exmoor is blessed with moors and sea which, to my mind, provide all the ingredients for the perfect holiday, and this cottage is well located for visiting its highlights. The village pub, The Lion, although unassuming, does some very fine food should you not be inclined to cook in the lovely kitchen. I can't see any reason why we shan't be visiting again.
